The Dark Hermetic Epoch, March 9 through May 2 this time, is with us, and I leave it to you to figure out what it mean in your own life, because it means different things to different people.  All I can do is give clues.

Strange things happen. One connects with old memories and old tendencies, wondering who one really is, or if some self from the past is resurfacing.

People on the outside are unusually unpredictable. Trump agreed immediately to talk with North Korea, but I cannot find from the New York Times whether that happened Thursday afternoon or Friday morning--if Thursday, it was on the final day of the Bright Hermetic Epoch. At any rate, he is likely to do surprising things. His call for the death penalty for drug dealers, which is not going to happen, is an example of erratic behavior at these times.

That is an example of the worst that can happen, something like "Nothing I have done so far works, so I will do something radical" and that can end in tragedy. The saddest example I noticed in the news was the veteran suffering from PTSD in California who killed three wonderful young women who had been trying to help him. Horrible. It shows how one's mind can get thoroughly tangled and make very bad choices at these times. (And at the |karmically difficult third| of each week, for the hostage-taking and killing occurred on Friday during that time, as was pointed out here a day before).

In other cases, the peculiarities are less serious, merely playful things one does to "find out who one is" perhaps. I found myself, on Saturday, ordering some rather wild items online, things I would usually consider silly, but something in me wanted to have them--toys, if you will. Did I waste my money? Time will tell but I think this was harmless and maybe needed in my own psychological development.

And so it goes. It is a good time for self-observation, and observing one's close ones with love and consideration, realizing that they too are going through peculiar psychological moods and modes which may make them act in ways you didn't anticipate.

Monday:

A warrior in helmet drawing a long bow to which the fletch is duly set.  Strong character, set purpose, knowledge of future events. Or, weakness which depends on the hazard of life; carelessness in vanity; self-inflation.  Speculation.  b

A man surrounded by others seeking a quarrel.  Quick to anger, or to disturb the peace of others. Rash and Impetuous.  b

A column of smoke ascending on a gigantic scale, followed by a terrible burst of flame. The phenomenon partakes of the character of an explosion.  NOT FATE, but a tendency to sudden losses, or things turning out unexpectedly.  c

A funeral procession and an open grave, and a great concourse of people; great excitement.  Death through violence or accident.  c

A large hat with streamers flying, facing east.  Excitation.  s

A man habited in rough clothes hewing timber close to a log hut.  Contented and laborious. Adaptable to circumstances. Fashioning a world of one's own from materials which nature supplies. Industry, stability, virtue, humility.  Utility.  b

An old bridge over a beautiful stream.  Conservation.  c

I pl;aced these with the worst at the beginning, suggesting a possible sequence of tragedy if anyone in any situation sets himself or herself up for that. One may wonder if these rather upsetting symbols have a real utility as warnings. One might think that they are too much like the boy crying "Wolf!" to the point that everyone starts to ignore him. Well, I give them as they are for you to figure out. Often they point out things which are possible, or actual, in others' lives, not in one's own. A woman I know who had a birth-planet at the degree of "a funeral procession," etc., as above, did not suffer a violent death herself but as a nurse in a hospital was necessarily a witness of such things.  Today could be a good day for circumspection and prayer.

Or, the final three symbols could point to a successful use of the day's energies, the "excitation" being a good stimulus, and the "conservation" suggesting conservative, wise use of Nature's potencies granted us as stewards.

Things may be better toward late afternoon and evening when Luna approaches good aspects with Venus and Mercury.

b: Signor Borelli, 19th century clairvoyant; interpreted by Sepharial who was Walter Gorn Old
c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones

The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
