A man's throat is cut and he lies on the ground bleeding.
A banker passing by with bags of money hardly notices
The blood. A miner, honest and just, saves the dying
Man by getting help for him in time.
Cattle browsing in the sunshine are placid and content,
Patient and unambitious. They impress a man of
Sought-out wisdom as examples of detachment
From the world's temptations. He studies ancient teachings.
Sitting in uncertain light he reads uncertain
Books evoking in him moods of certainty.
The woman irresistibly drawn to him likes his wisdom,
Not his body. Their hearts exceed their intellects.
Something is moving in the world without a cause.
The injured and disgraced find love in secret depths.

Cosmic Piper
P. S. An astrologer friend who is also a poet said to me, when I told him I was writing three quatrains in my daily forecasts, that just two more lines would make a sonnet (fourteen lines). But the sonnet form is rhymed, and mine are in the form of blank verse (unrhymed iambic pentameter, very much used over the centuries as by Shakespeare, Milton, and Sri Aurobindo). So there is probably no precedent for three quatrains of blank verse followed by an unrhymed couplet, as allied to the sonnet form, but the above is one anyway.
