Moon in Aries-->Taurus
/moon void-of-course   ** /
until it enters Taurus at 10:11a PT | 1:11p ET | 5:11p UT   ***

As fate would have it, I conked out on Friday and Saturday under various Mercury Retrograde pressures or confusions and did not write a report for the weekend until Sunday evening. Therefore I failed to report the beginning of the |Karmically challenging or sobering third| of this past week, which was, as I now calculate it according to the regular formula, Sunday May 1 at 3:10a PT | 6:10a ET | 10:10a UT. It lasted until Tuesday around noon (exact time reported here in the Tuesday forecast). According to Reuters, the huge and devastating fire in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada "erupted on Sunday and exploded in ferocity." That was of course within the |difficult third| period, and also during a Mercury Retrograde period, and the determining aspect of the |difficult third| was the square of the moon in Pisces to Saturn in Sagittarius, but also to Mars in that sign. Sagittarius is a fire sign and Mars is the planet of fire.

The moon's square with Mars was exact about 8 p.m. Alberta time on Sunday, when people were fleeing desperately for their lives knowing their homes might burn to the ground. Not a pretty picture, with at least 88,000 evacuated and at least 16,000 buildings destroyed.

The |difficult third| is a real thing which happens every week and which I discovered about thirty years ago. No other astrologer, so far as I know, uses it or knows about it and none has asked me exactly how I calculate it. I shall continue reporting it for as long as I write this report, for the sake of those able to notice and benefit by it. The next |difficult third| covers Saturday and Sunday exactly (May 7-8). For most, it should be a quiet weekend, not one during which you attempt something big or exciting. Thursday and Friday, though far from perfect, would be better for meetings and social pleasures, maybe Thursday especially. This could be quite low-key because we are in the final days of an Old Moon, but still pleasing.

The artisan's tools including shears rest beside his
Busy hands. He'd like to be out boating with a
Friend. He's working for a patron who likes his third
Dimensional collage. Money trumps fun for a while.

The patron wants a family tree, or something reminiscent of
His relatives. He told the artist lively stories of their
Love affairs, soon to allure within the piece
He'll shape into raw legends no one gets.

He'd rather be raking wood and straw from the river.
But he uses his shears to cut the stuff he'll mold
Into mysteries telling more than his client suspects
Of secret truths. He'd like to be with his friend in the boat.

The piece wins acclaim. The relatives marvel at their exposed
Exploits. The artist seeks adventure on the lake.
