~Hopes and Friends Tested and Found Reliable~

There is a strong emphasis on hopes, goals, and friends. It is better to be with people for at least a meaningful segment of the day, and perhaps to communicate with those at a distance. 

That is true despite Venus's approaching conjunction with Saturn, which is a "downer." At best it is loyalty, a realization that the people in your life, whatever their faults, are the people in your life. I loved a statement by Meher Baba to his disciples (in India): "You are all like a house of broken-down furniture. But I chose you, so you must be what I wanted." 

At worst, that aspect is a doubt of the worth of a relationship, or a doubt of its security, or a feeling that no one understands you (or, more maturely, that you don't understand anyone). We have lived through it before. Says Ebertin of it: "Being unsatisfied, hard--hearted; self-torture, jealousy, sexual issues, cold awakening, tendency to isolation or separation." Better than that, it can be a realization of how much others are suffering the same thing, and so compassion can awaken. That is, provided it doesn't become a sadistic satisfaction that others are suffering. "Misery loves company."  (It's getting closer by the day but could be at its worst on Wednesday. But doesn't vanish completely until the 18th.) 

Then there is the sun exactly conjoined to Pluto. "Self-assertion, desire to be superior to others, leading and influencing others, self-assertion." Some of that is not bad. You could do it a little, especially with true-blue friends, so long as it doesn't become arrogance, which is overestimation of one's own judgment.

Then there is Mercury square Mars. (No extremely close "nice" aspects, the sextiles and trines.) This can be "hastiness, nervousness, restlessness, irritability." So let's plan the day wisely and stay with plans unless they obviously are failures. It can also be disputes or accidents. (How many accidents happen when someone is brooding on a resentment?) It can be "keen mind and sharp criticism." Let's direct most of the criticism toward ourselves. 

Venus square Neptune, also exact, can be a misleading sense of love. "She loves me, she loves me not." Ebertin says it can be erotic aberrations and jealousy. Better, it can be love on a higher plane or platonic love. 

You feel challenged to manifest a solid, realistic direction in your job or career. This you can do, despite the Dark Hermetic Epoch. Mercury will turn retrograde tomorrow, making things probably harder just as the |difficult third| of the week begins (late Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). So today is one of the better days for pursuing plans and objectives. 

Remember the first paragraph above, despite all the difficulties mentioned since then.
