While she muses he is rescuing hundreds from a wreck
Upon the ocean. He and the rest struggle direly for the shore.
Three gondoliers steer the happy couples through the
Watery avenues. Sentiment is high with or without the wine
Some have brought. They lie upon cushions quite luxuriously.
One is thinking of a homestead he will edify for his darling.
The peacock on the ancient lawn unfurls his feathered glamour
In the face of a man who neglected to change his clothes.
But this friend sustains his friends without any doubt or quibble.
His clasp of hand conveys a steadfast goodwilled kindness.
