There seems to be a stew of things going on which are questionable, purportedly fun or exciting but perhaps just pretend-fun after a while. People's habits and addictions are very much in evidence. Responsibilities toward people are on your mind. The immature and the mature clash but partake of one another's virtues as well as vices through their necessary interaction. If this is not parents versus children it feels like it sometimes.
The responsibilities you feel may be toward someone with chronic problems.
A restless spirit could be a sprite, loving water during the heat
And looking for itself in a mirror reflecting the sun.
A student of the Mysteries piles books near the fountain
And lets rich solar rays illumine abstruse thinking.
The whining dog looks always morose, as if it had been
Treated badly, yet its owner, a chemistry teacher, seems
Kindly enough. They both decide to follow a camel crossing
The desert, absorbing self-adequate peaceful adventurousness.
Studying Greek manuscripts, he finds geometrical formulae
Concealed in poetry, embedded in stage directions.
Magicians consort unconsciously with Muses and set forth
The lyrics and sallies which groups round campfires sing.
