}Partial Light is Enough{

Although Mercury has turned direct (yesterday), we are still in the Dark Hermetic Epoch until April 6. That means that although the very center of that Epoch, the Mercury Retrograde cycle, is over, the effects of it continue almost as intensely as before. People have expected everything to right itself the very minute Mercury turns direct. They see that this does not happen. Then they decide that astrology is nonsense. I, Cosmic Piper, am the discoverer of the Dark and Bright Hermetic Epochs. I discovered them after years of intense personal search to understand the periods of my own and others' lives. I succeeded, and published the results in American Astrology Magazine in 1979, which was later republished because readers and editors understood that I was breaking new ground.

The Dark Epochs (about three more weeks this time; which is always the case; they extend two to three weeks past the time Mercury turns direct) are good for research, pondering, meditating, thinking. They are not as good for immediate outward results in a project. The project gets tangled, snared, held back, reviewed, because it is not quite ready, or most often that is the case. Knowing this will help you.

Diligence, and trusting the aid of Heaven, are important at a time like this. You may see something like half of the solution to your problem. Whatever you are doing may be half finished. You are fixing, repairing, getting in shape your mind-set, the set which will allow you to complete the project with genuine self-direction.

You may think of school days, when you were a rival of other kids in some area, trying to outshine them, win at a sport or a course. You had to see the physical or mental target; aim; and try again. That is going on now, again. You may feel stymied by things which slow you down, but can persist amid trying conditions.

You can meet insecurities through the courage of continuing to attack problems. You may feel you are representing others in your endeavor, that is, the particular kind of aspiration and hope which keeps you all going. You feel that the world has been unfair to such as yourself. But you will not accept that as final; so continue to push forward with a sense of what is right and what can therefore be achieved.

Things are on the move, and you follow them, but still are not near the end of the quest. At times they get very exciting; progress is sudden and amazing. Then you realize you need to slow down and continue more patiently. Whatever is fanciful or questionable should be taken with a grain of salt, investigated without credulity. It may give real insight, yet be limited in its practical usefulness.

Indeed, you could lose financially or otherwise by "playing with life" as if it were a casual gamble. This would be Mercury squaring Jupiter as it starts to move faster; yet it will also trine Saturn, so you are likely to be responsible and awaken from unrealistic illusions before it is too late.

You can be brave and honorable through any crisis. Unusual influences may possess you. You may submit to them gladly, and they either lead on to a stumble, or save you at the last moment. When you recover you remain avid; strong in the quest for opportunity and position.

Someone gentle and sympathetic sheds a benediction upon you. This could be someone almost parental, connected with your career directly or indirectly. So much is available! Yet you need to be careful how you use opportunities lest what you do lead to a reversal.

This does not have to happen if you remain patient, realizing, as suggested, that you may be seeing only half the total picture in connection with plans and hopes. Then you will calm down and continue to utilize the part which is illumined. What is still in the dark will come to light as you proceed without drama or haste.

The Dark Hermetic Epoch (February 8 through April 5) resembles a "fever dream" some of the time. As, when one is recovering from a fever, one feels the swirling currents in one's head slowing down and consolidating, something like that could be going on in your consciousness, because Mercury is gaining speed and lunar aspects today are solid. Not all easy, but clarifying.

Knowledge, whether abstract as in philosophy or definite as in medicine, is a key to much. Learning is enjoyable as well as productive of opportunity. If complete enough, it develops bravery. What you accept in consciousness is what becomes real to you.

Concentration is a power, as yogis discovered millennia ago. At certain points, according to Patanjali and others, it opens up inner vision as a ray of light opening into a lotus opening into universal comprehension. One can see into the heavens as well as into the depths of the earth.

Insecurities, within limits, are normal; we buy groceries because we would be insecure, literally, with an empty cupboard. Love and spiritual consciousness reduce the unreal insecurities. So can intense concentration on a goal (Mars conjoining Uranus in Aries), which might make you indomitable. There is something on which you will not give up. You will push others to go with you, or drag them, until they stop kicking and screaming.

Spring begins tomorrow; the world is getting green (in our Northern Hemisphere anyway). You may be aware of this, yet have your mind also, or mostly, on shrewd matters such as financial moves or business deals which will redound to your benefit. There seems no end to these, so you need to choose; or postpone choosing when that is wise.

You have a strong influence on people; they bow to you because of your knowledge or personality or charisma. Yet they are likely to feel that you have abandoned them, sometimes, and you may not realize to what extent they feel despoiled and injured. Perhaps, also, you feel that way about someone who has apparently used and abandoned you, or been egoistic and dictatorial with little regard for your feelings.

Just letting things go is a tendency, with Luna trine Neptune: "Strawberry fields forever." Good intentions and amiable qualities are not enough, however, to hold everything together in your life. You can identify what you need to do to mobilize your resources, and proceed to do that realistically, while retaining the "strawberry fields" in your consciousness as a cushioning factor while active in work.

A great deal is available and enjoyable. You feel at home wherever you go. A gypsy trend feels adventurous and lucky. Ultimate fulfillment beckons to you and others. Shared worldly goods are rewarding.

Yet something will keep you knocking at the doors of knowledge, even leaping toward them as if to escape harrowing limitations. Half-knowledge does not seem enough. Your mind-set says, "Knowledge is power," and you proceed in whatever way makes sense to you, whether anyone "gets it" or not. What you don't know is not a fetter but an opportunity to learn, and not under someone else's direction but under your own. The secrets of nature and life, even when partially intuited, decimate frustration.
