Sun in Pisces and Moon in Aquarius
/moon goes void-of-course at 2:09p PT | 5:09p ET | 10:09p UT
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week:all day, until Saturday afternoon
The lady in the ermine jacket winks
Across a candle at the laborer with his beer.
A floodlight mimics a star. The music is hollow.
A new venue secures old friends who understand.
}Appropriate Assertion, with Mutual Respect{
It is really tempting to take an easy path.
And it might be a good idea. However, my recommendation would be to use
the earlier hours (before void-of-course, above) to get the most
important or necessary things finished. Then you can coast into the
evening.
Despite all the talk about the sequester and the budget, many seem to be prospering, or at least appreciating immensely whatever level of prosperity they enjoy.
At the same time there is an idealistic desire to keep on working at
something in which you feel personally interested, with earnestness and
simplicity. Then you can enjoy whatever is available, perhaps with a friend, even more deeply.
Whatever brilliant gifts your mind owns
(we all own some), they are heightened and made practical or useable.
You can also borrow or benefit by the brilliant gifts bestowed on you by
a teacher. This may be partially apart from "the world" or the public's
gaze, in your private space. In fact, you love your home and could feel
proud of it. Friends appreciate the comforts of one another's homes.
We are in the |karmically difficult third| of this week and you might be worrying too much--or just enough--about defending yourself from problems or confrontations. Keen observation and implicit intelligence act as a barometer to warn you when you ought to separate from an individual or a situation.
There could be a tendency to "bark up the wrong tree" after the moon goes void-of-course (time
above). Some of your assumptions could be mistaken. The sooner you
realize this is the wrong "tree" the better. You can then change course
and continue to enjoy yourself one way or another. You are sensing
perhaps who your real friends are. They have come through the test of
long association with you. You sense also the complex connections among
people, and the places they go, and how to be in the right place at the
right time--with the proviso of the first four sentences of this
paragraph.
Contention is possible, with Mercury exactly square Jupiter. People do not know how to outgrow old assumptions, some of which are simply wrong (Mercury retrograde, and both Mercury and Jupiter in signs of their detriment). So if you can sort out some of your assumptions,
and realize others may be failing to do this, you could avoid harsh
quarrels. You can, however, assert yourself intelligently, especially if you maintain a high regard for others who do not see things as you do.
People are avid and headstrong, wanting to enjoy themselves thoroughly, and surprised that anyone might get in their way or disapprove the way they secure pleasure. They consider themselves prepared for anything, although they are not. You may be testing your preparedness against theirs. It could be a good contest.
Dignity and dominion may be your right, if you have
earned them. And so you can present yourself in the best light, so that
you are accepted and appreciated. There is something tasteful and
refined about this, especially in a location where friends feel comfortable together.
Ultimate prosperity seems to have given you a foothold within its doors. This is exhilarating. Yet you are thoroughly aware that to keep that
foothold you need to keep laboring at what is most important to you.
You are proud of your work and the character it displays. Others also feel that way about themselves. Somehow there can be a camaraderie of hard-earned mutual respect.

Sun in Pisces and Moon in Aquarius
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week

The bowl of flowers looks dry but reassuring.
An unrolling scroll tangles pink feet. Arrows
Shot from a mansion pierce through clouds of doubt
Whose prismatic colors animate a clockwork doll.
}Musing and Pondering for Orientation{
One might say that the moon being void-of-course on the traditional Sabbath day of rest is not a bad thing. It is a good time for meditation and spiritual search.
Because also we are in the final days of an Old Moon, and Mercury remains retrograde, I would not recommend this day for shopping for unfamiliar or unusual items. Hold on to receipts. It can be fine for ordinary activities including shopping for the usual items, and completing anything which is an old duty unfinished. "Old business" has been said to be good during Mercury's retrograde period by astrologers for centuries. It's often a catching-up time.
Your perceptions are sharp and possibly highly accurate. You may see those things which we never know exactly how to put into words. Poets try, and succeed to the extent their readers succeed in getting it. You may validate intuitions or hunches you have had, exclaiming "Aha!" I have found that void-of-course and Mercury-retrograde periods are not bad for research. Yet what is found during research at such times, though possibly correct, ought to be verified afterward, to be sure.
There are warnings about passions, obsessions, strong sexual desires which seem to come from nowhere and possibly go nowhere, although they could make trouble. You have a standard within yourself about such things. Some part of you knows what is appropriate and what not. So your better self can prevent anything crazy from happening.
Prudence and care have been strong for weeks, what with several planets in Pisces trining Saturn in Scorpio. You have been careful, and "catching up" with things you needed to recapture. Today you might realize how much you have done. Some pointless traditions, however, could get in your way. But if you realize their true value and hold on to them as expressions of the soul, they could be valuable, linking you with spiritual realities symbolically .
Definite
timing could be good for you. It is impossible to reduce all of life to
schedules, yet some basic ones can be very important for orientation
and psychological stability. Some can be based on days of the week, some
could be based on astrological positions of the moon or sun, or even the planetary hours for those drawn to them. Others could be your own formulas such as doing particular tasks on particular days of the month or the "second Tuesday" or whatnot. (Cleaning up the house or workspace, or doing laundry, when the moon is void-of-course, is something which works for me.)
It is wise to stay with things which
are healthful. This could prevent you getting lost in wandering
pointlessly, either with your feet or your mind. If you do go out, a
place which is restful, an estate or tract of land, park or mansion, could be the right place to rest for a while. Your home is also a good place to be.
Witty people who are quick-tempered may please you as much as annoy you. You adjust to them or learn from them. They help you keep your own arsenal of quick perception and wit ready-at-hand.
Knowledge and power seem to settle upon you when you are in a place in which you feel poised. No matter what the chaos you perceive in the world or your life, you keep on drilling yourself toward precise awareness and activity. Today, this could be subtle and reserved rather than overt and noticeable.
Convenience is an important value. You have observed your life, your usual day and week and month, and can estimate the most
convenient schedules or general rules for yourself. By following such
methods, your judgment becomes more accurate because less hassled. By April 6, when the Bright Hermetic Epoch (of
about two months) begins, you will also be much more sure of your
future direction, travel plans, educational possibilities, career
openings, and---A path marked out for yourself by yourself, continuing into May and June. It is probably too early to know what this will be, and better to trust that it shall be revealed.
