One of the hardest things I try to do is convince people that when Mercury turns direct, as it did Friday, things do not immediately get easier. It is still moving very slowly and its over-all relation to the sun and the earth does not "straighten out" until it gets back to the place it was when it turned retrograde. Why am I sure of that? Decades of observation. And so we may expect a true "bright or smooth Epoch" beginning September 30 through November 24. 

One of the symbols for today seems to point out the situation: "A man climbing a steep hill in the dark is allured by a light illuminating the summit." But this turns out to be, not a star but just a meteor. "His inspirations are misleading. Let him not believe every spirit but try the spirits." That is good advice at this time when both true and false occult notions are prevalent, spread easily on the internet.

This is the last day we have the symbol which Mercury  occupied during its station: "Four long posts forming a square: and four rails fastened horizontally to the top of each. It looks like the framework of some temporary building or shanty." It seems that we are coming out of the delays and confusions of Mercury's retrogradation by assembling the materials of a better dwelling or "shanty" for our hopes and plans. In these early stages nothing may seem definitive, but there should be more clarity by Saturday the 23d when the autumnal equinox begins a happier month.

I understand that Zelensky of Ukraine is supposed to be in Washington today asking for more handouts for the war devastating his country and its citizens. Look at how accurate this symbol is! (from the Borelli-Sepharial set, Venus's degree for the day and also for Tuesday): "A man riding a camel with attendants following." "One noted for his wide and prolonged travels. His life will be beset with dangers of a physical nature; he will leave a humble home and become a prominent figure in a foreign country. The character is stubborn, persevering, very vindictive and revengeful; not ungrateful but never forgetting injuries. He will be somewhat fond of parade and self-advertisement." (Meanwhile his people are dying, injured or maimed, many fleeing his nation if they can.)

This has been going on for nineteen months; does it seem like "Circular paths"? That can be "a tendency to think in circles and lose all perspective in inconsequentialities." In our own lives it could be better. Despite "interminable repetitions in the events of personal life" we can "remain true to ourselves at center." The keyword is Congruity. After a point of crisis, "inevitably everything falls into place."
