Message for Thursday 16 March 2023, and Year Ahead

Thursday 16 March 2023, and Coming Year

\Hope Renewed/

On Wednesday and Thursday the Part of Fortune is in the 10th house (top of the chart) of Career, Position, or Honor, so I as well as you may be thinking about what brings us dignity or credit in the community. For me that is partly this forecast-meditation and I feel impelled to write a longer-term report (usually reserved for weekends).

Money! Banks crashing! Crypto-currencies (not just FTX) plummeting! The standard stock market (SPX) going down by 12.75% since last March 20. That brings me to the topic, the most significant (to my observation) annual charts in astrology, those from Vernal Equinox to Vernal Equinox, Spring to Spring, March 20 (or 21) to March 20. We begin a new year four days from now.

It should be better! That's what gives me extra motivation to write this.

The 2022-23 chart covering the year soon ending was, without doubt, very difficult. By conventional aspect patterns we had Venus conjunct Saturn, with Mars in the same cluster, all square Uranus, indicating conflict, separation, harshness, and resentment. One might find a good use for this setup, but it seems few of us did, or we struggled to do so with some success and much failure. No doubt character was developed! It was the year of the Ukraine-Russia war, which began a few weeks before the year technically began. As already mentioned it was a year of harsh financial conditions and upsets, one of them in just the past week, others seemingly congenital (inflation, Market decline, soaring government and personal debt). Why, astrologically? Venus is the single planet connected most with money and as just mentioned she was conjoined with Saturn while square Uranus. Harsh indeed, and any superficial astrologer could see this setup as showing big losses. And there were no contrary indications (such as good Jupiter aspects) to help.

The over-all pattern shows Mars at the focus of a T square (the other component being a moon-Uranus opposition). This can be warlike, and it was. Glimmers of hope for peace talks seemed just glimmers.

Why would the positions of the planets at the Vernal Equinox be significant for a whole year? Because they are, which is the only answer one can give to skeptics. The ancient astrologers used such charts and after comparing them with many other methods I believe them to be of major importance, the best indications there are of annual tendencies. Even, their accuracy extends to the degree-symbols of the planets within the annual charts. As you probably know, I use three different sets of symbols given by three clairvoyant individuals, two of them in the 19th century. Again, just because they work. For the annual charts, so far I have found the Borelli-Sepharial symbols the most telling so will confine myself to those in this particular report.

Mars, at point focus, was in the degree "Two bulls fighting on the edge of a precipice." Zelensky and Putin, or Biden and Putin, and the "precipice" could be a nuclear World War III. For brevity, let's take in addition the major rulers in the chart, Saturn and Jupiter. "A man lying wounded or sick upon the ground" (tragic war photos) and "Two daggers crossed." We have had too much of all that, not only in the war but in political turmoil and dissension in the U. S. and elsewhere. More than usual? So it seems to me.

The position of Venus in the 2022-23 chart now ending seems specially relevant because it is in the same degree as both Mars and Saturn (the two "malefics") in the birth-chart of Sam Bankman Fried, the favorite "financial villain" of the year. It is 13Aquarius14: "A broken bridge spanning a rapid stream." "Unforeseen dangers. About the middle of life there will be a great catastrophe, by which he could suffer a total collapse of his affairs. He will then be in danger of liquidation and serious trouble." SBF may be facing a prison term unless his lawyers can rescue him. Also, this same symbol fits neatly the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank over the past week, and much else, maybe even some facets of your personal finances.

Why does the 2023-24 chart beginning four days from now look better? There are too many reasons to report fully but I may mention more as the year rolls on.  Here are some: Venus, the money (and love) planet, sextile Mars on one side and Saturn on the other. This is major, and Venus is in her own sign, Taurus, a money sign. At the very least this should mean smoother sailing for virtually everyone.

It may not mean "getting rich quick" but more like the symbol for Venus's degree-position (in the same Borelli-Sepharial set of symbols we are using for the sake of consistency): "A man of benevolent countenance stands near a cottage chopping wood. Around him are orchards well filled with fruit. Near him is a sheep grazing."  "With a contented, happy disposition one is a friend of Nature and beloved of her. One's wealth is one's own contentment and one's ambitions are fulfilled with the day. Keyword: Heart-Wealth."

Venus is one ruler within the chart; the other two are Mars and Mercury so let's look at their symbols: Mercury: "A wood in which wild undergrowth abounds, and many plants of different kinds and colors." "A rustic nature, brusque and rugged but rich of heart; abundant but untrained--one very prodigal of his energies and wealth." Quite the opposite of the Silicon Valley Bank!

Mars: "A large and well cultivated tract of land." "A healthy body, with keen appreciation of nature's beauties; a successful life with large family and many friends. More physical and emotional than mental-spiritual, yet these will be reflected in the life, and work for good in it. Keyword: Fruitfulness." Again, the opposite of the forbidding symbol for Mars in the year now ending (bulls fighting, given above).

It lies to ourselves to take advantage of such favorable astrological conditions, but it appears that the cosmos is going to reward us for the tribulations we have been going through. Voila!
