He holds a triangle with a hole in its center,
A magical object whose magic drains through the gap.
Secret false notions make good intentions abortive.
At last he finds himself lying on the ground,
/
The sun setting, hopes vanished in clouds,
Life's lessons learned or else lost in death.
He fumbles for the talismanic triangle,
Grasps it gently while he prays, feels its opening
/
As an entrée of hope and possible rebirth.
He hears whistling and singing, casual footsteps--
A gypsy is coming out of the forest. He stoops
And grasps the lying, not dying, man's hand,
/
Raising him to his feet. They journey together
Wherever the triangle, opened to Spirit, may lead.
