Shorted. And now collapse, or preservation?

Two prim spinsters seem to their neighbors cold,

While winter frost outlines the woods.

There is comfort in at least one companion

And the crackling warmth of a fireplace.

A gigantic pillar of commerce firmly upholds

Buildings, ramparts, earth, the hopes of many.

It is lit on one side, where the set of mind is

Clear and unimpeachable. The other side, unknown.

Questions overtake the plans of the best

And answers refuse adroitly to be hastened.
