Weekend of June 24-25, and Survey of Epochs until February

Some may think that the daily sonnets here, based on current zodiacal degree-symbols, are arbitrary and unconnected with the day’s events. I believe the opposite is true, that when pondered in the light of the day’s events they reveal much. As I write on Friday, the breaking news is the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe vs. Wade. And as I wrote the Friday sonnet, yesterday, I anticipated that, because of the symbols in the sonnet. Let’s review it:

And justifies its motives to itself.

\\\ Those seeking an elective abortion are like “hunters starting out for ducks, callous but freedom-determined.” An exact hit. The cat arguing with a mouse is a father or mother arguing with an unwanted child, called contemptuously a “fetus.” He or she, like the cat, “justifies its motives to itself” (to themselves).

A woman in pastel colors carries a heavy, valuable,

Veiled load up a ladder. What is her aim?

The landing at the top leads to nowhere. Purpose

Seems lacking. Is her reticence integrity?

\\\ It has always seemed to me, when reading this symbol, that the “heavy, valuable, veiled load” could be an unborn child. She carries it up a ladder but “the landing leads to nowhere.” Abortion. “Purpose seems lacking.” The final sentence (question) I leave to your interpretation (answer).

Things beautiful, marvelous, harmonious.

\\\ This could be interpreted as pro-life, “expression” as a baby..

It’s also noteworthy that Friday was the first day of the |Karmically serious, sobering, challenging third| of this week. Questions centering around abortion are certainly karmic, whatever one’s conception or understanding of them. Some wondered why the Court did not wait until Monday to release their opinion. Astrologically, this may be why. They had to do it during a |karmically serious| period, though they know nothing about that.

This often-gloomy period has been hitting the weekends for months. However, it seems that, within it, Saturday afternoon-evening could be a bright spot, maybe for social life, when Luna will be close to Venus and sextile Jupiter, carrying over into early Sunday.

I hope that, for you, the current Bright Hermetic Epoch (June 19 through August 19) is proving relatively smooth as compared with the previous two months (April 26 through June 18). It seems we can set realistic goals and attain them with equanimity. Some of the aspects and symbols of the current Epoch were set forth in last weekend’s report.

The Dark Epoch beginning August 20 (twentieth) lasts through October 16. Although it has some good features it does not look as easy as the current Summer Epoch and I would not recommend it for a vacation, for example. If possible it might be better to plan a vacation before August 20 (twentieth). Likewise the Bright Epoch after that, from October 17 through December 11, looks even more dismal. This includes the mid-term elections in early November and it seems they might be brutal in terms of the political passions they excite. I make no prediction except that it will probably be very contentious. Let us pray that though we may have “civil strife” it will not be “civil war.” Then, happily, the next Dark Epoch after that, December 12 through February 6, including the holiday season, looks quite wonderful in many ways (only one harsh aspect with Saturn while Venus and Mars are in a trine and both sextile Jupiter). It is something to look forward to.

Meanwhile the current Epoch through August 19 is good for many things. Though not without effort, when doors need to be opened they can be. I could write more about it and hope to do so in next weekend’s report.
