~Suspicious or Gracious Winners and Losers~
Moon in Gemini-->Cancer

"A prison door fitted with iron spikes" fits with Mercury exactly square Saturn while almost motionless. The Heindels say such a person "is thwarted on every hand by slander and secret enemies and this makes him bitter and sarcastic, and shunned by all who can get away from him." Obviously there will be melancholy for whichever party lost the election (I do not know as I write). There can be suspicion plus plotting and scheming, and it seems likely that either or both parties will suspiciously accuse the other of such scheming. Plus, those who lost will sometimes fear those who won. What we might need is "a general accepting defeat gracefully" or an attitude that "well, we lost this battle but shall not lose the next one."
Perhaps totally apart from politics, we have "a dove," that is, someone innocent and harmless who "thinks and acts from the heart rather than the head" and is "a true friend" or "constant lover." That would be great luck, for Venus is beginning to oppose Mars, from her sign to his, which does not in general bode well for intersexual matters. It is good however to keep the ideal in mind. Perhaps the winners of the election (if they are even known today) will feel like "brownies dancing in the setting sun," feeling invigorated and blessed with good fortune. Maybe even the losers, or probable losers, will find something to dance about.
If counting ballots is still going on, or there are lawsuits challenging results, the ultimate winners will be like "a canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters." They will need to steer skillfully through risk. In our personal affairs we need to prove our competency. Maybe some will be able to drop all thoughts of politics and emulate "two men seated at a table with beakers of wine before them." They drift into sympathy and joviality, with frank, friendly conversation. It might border on indiscretion because of wise, witty and intimate knowledge of human nature.
