~Better Balance Established~
I can honestly say what everyone likes to hear, that this week should be smoother than last week. It is true that the preponderance of squares and oppositions (hard) versus trines and sextiles (easy) remains on the "hard" side. The demanding aspects in cardinal signs put us constantly on the alert to keep up with our quest to reach our goals, whether they be long-term, short-term, or utter necessities. I can't speak for you, but the past week has seen me struggling every day to catch up with all the things pressing on me. It has not been extreme suffering, however, because I had a will to do these things; it was just demanding on my time and attention. I took short breathers but felt I had to get right back to work.
This week may be the same, in that regard, but with this difference: Rather than Mars square Mercury being the stand-out aspect (frazzled nerves, disagreements, pressure to perform with accuracy), Venus sextile Jupiter is with us as one of the pleasantest aspects in all astrology. We may continue with pressing tasks, but feel relieved that they are less exasperating. They reach happy consummations sooner rather than later, and with less of a sense of "combat."
Venus sextile Jupiter---and these two planets also in mutual reception, that is, Venus in Jupiter's sign and Jupiter in Venus's---presages good social times, luxuries, festivity and entertainment. (And possibly pounds added to the waistline, but let's not go there.) What detracts somewhat from this is that Venus is also moving to a conjunction with Saturn, but this being in Jupiter's sign and with both in good aspect to Jupiter may merely mean that wise common sense predominates over utter frivolity (so the waistline may be curtailed after all).
Here begin mini-essays based upon the positions and aspects plus the degree symbols for the week as I have researched them:
Notorious individuals may be in the news in a big way. (One comes to my mind at once.) The world is wisely suspicious of them. Some are misanthropic, revengeful, secretive and avaricious.
Others, not actively baneful, are passively content with drifting into unpremeditated problems, including probably some of your friends or yourself. There is saving help through "three mounds of knowledge on a philosopher's head," that is, integrity and comprehension plus prescience. (Maybe we should be studying Hegel and his trinitarian logic.) People grope toward understanding.
Writers may be blessed this week. No matter how disorderly their methods and scribblings may seem at first, they can come into a piece. Intellectual work is underappreciated, yet those born to it persist. Some of what they write may have to do with marriage or non-marriage, ways of conforming love to society, rituals of love. While Jupiter is in Libra we stand to have, probably, the first woman president and her husband, an ex-president, will be "first man" (some would deny him the "first gentleman" distinction) and so something fascinating is working out since Jupiter entered Libra, sign of marriage and relationships, on September 9.
As for bookishness, others will be readers of tomes from the past which are more relevant to current needs than popular best-sellers. Some have to do with ancient mysteries, "the Pyramids and the Sphinx." We certify what our lives are about by linking with global history and its monumental attainments.
Psychic gifts are not to be underestimated. The popular TV series showing off supernatural powers are foreshadowings of what can be attained, if not in those exact fictional ways then in ways metaphorically analogous. The popularity of these series and movies shows that people believe they are implicitly more than their current selves. The other side of this is keeping the body in shape, "boys and girls in gymnasium suits," for we animate our minds by animating our bodies, sometimes in home exercise programs.
Those who study chemistry or any other science have an implicit duty to use discovered knowledge for the benefit of humanity. At high speed they train their own and others' perceptions. There is something romantic about their far-flung researches and intellectual-missionary adventures.
"A girl surreptitiously bathing in the nude" immerses herself in the potentialities of natural reality. She may seem eccentric but is not inviting voyeurs. We are who we are without superfluous clothing or artificiality. An older man may care about her and feel she is still living in a cradle of innocence which could bring grief upon her. He can't help her except through repining and prayer, wanting her to escape sorrow.
We may find that music plus literature, philosophy or spiritual poetry (such as some scripture) lifts us into supernal ecstasy. The refined in art and sublime in nature call to us. Listening to music can be wonderful therapy, re-enlivening aspirations and endeavors. Then we are ready for the fray of daily life and final victory.
Those imprisoned metaphorically or actually are trying for a way out. Yet the chart suggests that we are imprisoning ourselves, that is, holding ourselves back for the sake of goals we want to attain rather than letting ourselves do just anything, for that kind of "freedom" might be bondage to momentary impulses and surrounding temptations. Wise enough to know this, we hold back and seek for real spiritual freedom through pursuing self-disciplined activities. Then our personal identity demonstrates true liberation through adeptly balancing the pairs of opposites, such as ambition and peacefulness.
