~Patience~
He travels in the Orient, having studied its geography.
The spiritual landscape soon engages his attention,
The yogis, gurus, healers, holy miracle-givers.
Their discipline and kindness transform worlds in silence.
On a raft he floats, having sought adventure and found
Peril. A bright blue star shining over the pale
Waters gives him hope. Estranged from family,
He uses mental powers and lofty intuitions to seek refuge.
He encamps at last upon the coast he's given by
the Fates. He strings a hammock someone left there;
Relaxes while he ruminates. Emulating a patient
Tortoise, his new neighbor, he feels that all is well.
