~Vigilant Yet Easygoing~
This is the last day before the |retreat| third of the week begins; actually it starts late tonight at 9:25p PT | 12:25a(F) ET | 3:25a(F) UT. It is also the Full Moon day-night (exact Friday at 9:04a PT | 12:04p ET | 4:04p UT). The |retreat| or difficult period lasts until Sunday afternoon; not three days, but almost so in appearance because the moon is slow.
So today would be a better party or get-together day than Friday. Yet the mood is mixed and can be down at certain moments, an alternation between optimistic energy and depression. You will probably select the people you choose to be with pretty carefully.
The "What's it all about, and why bother?" attitude is exacerbated by the Dark Hermetic Epoch lasting until October 14. The fires in the West are a symptom of this, and an effective indicator of the burning and trouble is the very long-lasting square between Mars and Mercury, still exact. Mars is in the sign of its fall, Cancer, a water sign, so we see the conflict between water or other fire-fighting substances and combustion. Mercury in Libra, an air sign, suggests how important the wind is in the efforts to control, and also the fact that hundreds of miles from the fire people are suffering breathing problems from the smoke particles. Mars square Mercury has been considered a "combustible" or angry, irritating, upsetting influence from ancient times. If you are refraining from arguments and fracases, you are doing well. A profitable use of the aspect could be household organization since Mars is in the sign of the home. Of course, for those whose houses are ruined by fire, this would be on a large scale. Fortunately for the rest of us the reorganization is more modest but still significant.
As you seek for guiding principles, and consolidate them, you feel more comfortable. Tragedies or the sufferings of others could help you in this, because they stimulate your thinking toward the prevention of such problems in your life. That is a tendency toward sobriety. Animal welfare will also be on the minds of many.
Some may turn to the I Ching or other such resources for guidance. A mystical tendency is not just escapism, it is that search for guiding principles just mentioned. Often the principles are less structured than intuitive, but structuring through astrology or the like aids intuition.
Some entertainment could be good, to lift your mood; the piano man's business is just that, or any musician's or entertainer's. Crying on the inside while creating joy on the outside.
Bygone days and what they have left us are far from worthless. Every time we see a movie or read a book we are teleported into the past. You gain poise by being in places where the past lives in your memory or through the magic of association. This can be a cure for frustration and impatience.
The music of life mixes with its business. Singing to yourself while working is a tonic. Music can put us in smoother telepathic rapport with others.
You might watch for an internal tug of war between a judgmental side of you which sees through the superficial desires of people, or their escapist habits, and another side of you which wants those very things for yourself. Should you sit down and take a break, or call that friend to chat or get together; or keep on pushing with your project? Just being aware of those choices more cogently could solve the dilemma. Finesse and flexibility may allow you to have both.
You can be strong through trials, and through others' trials, which may seem easier (except that we are all linked telepathically whether aware of that or not). You can be versatile and intuitive so that your paths and others' are smoothed.
