Messages for Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November 2023

Messages for Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November 2023

Saturday 11: ~Mutuality~

With a broken plow he stands in an open field,

Suffering from lack of opportunity, reduced to menial

Work, yet adapting himself to cultivation.

In his spare time he takes up dueling,

/

Fencing with swords, becoming quite formidable,

Not admitting an equal. Then he tries pugilism

With impressive success. But one match is almost

Fatal until a Red Cross Nurse intervenes to lend

/

Him crucial aid. Both up and down, he enlists to

Ease the needs of others, going back to

Farming.  In the public market he charges what is

Fair and makes commerce a living ideal of

/

Community living. Generosity and self-interest

Fuse, conflicting interests equal mutual benefits.

Sunday 12: ~Escape into Childlike Kindness~

A cataract is falling from one rocky ledge to another.

Some are compelled, from within or by circumstances,

To actions precipitous and hazardous. Does that end

In obscurity and confusion? There is intelligence and

/

Aspiration, yet temper prods energies to run away

With reason. A red triangle warns against

Swords and fires. But a Red Cross Nurse can save

The day. Her ideal service make her a phase of

/

All-self. She loses a sense of separativeness

By concern for the extreme needs of others.

Those around her likewise enlist, even children,

Becoming humanitarian in their play. Adults

/

With simplicity of manner play with them,

Fond of youthful, childlike amusements.
