A plowman is a plodder but cultivates the earth
Industriously and steadily. Agriculture provides
Contentment. Another man with bow and arrow
Is a good marksman, taking aim at an object
/
In the distance, chasing what he requires yet
Noble and humane; therefore prosperous.
At the right place and season he catches glimpses
Of the aurora borealis in the north, but cannot see
/
The icebergs it envelopes. It's a silent force less
Obvious than that of his bow, yet it engenders
Gaia's dreaming. She herself empowers a woman
In trailing robes waving a wand with a serpent
/
Coiled round it. She asserts control over others
By persuasion, fascination, invincible attraction.
