A knight of the field stands mailed and plumed,
With lance, ready for attack. He's steadfast in
Defending his rights and those of his country.
What would victory be when, over the battlefield,

An eagle and a large white dove turn one into the
Other? Who is adept enough to vary strategies
Successfully? "I am for peace, but they are for war"
Lamented the Psalmist. A general sneaks into a
/
Tent to consult a woman reading tea leaves.
An over-reality, an invisible world, might help him
Cognize winning timing. His men are, some of them,
Young; all vulnerable; they put him in mind of
/
His own children standing on stairs with their
Mother, learning to live a social conscience.
