This man is self-centered and reticent. Estranged
From his people, he could be deprived of his freedom
Like a man in chains. Hardship could toughen him

Into being brave and honorable in strife, wielding
A stiletto even while dining at a tavola,
Headstrong yet convivial. His friends consider him
A champion. A lady at his table likes to read tea

Leaves and he listens to her intuitive realizations
Of possible consummations, for the signs and
Signatures she trusts have given him strength.
A white dove wings its way over troubled waters

Offering to all conscious of it reconciling guidance,
Clear direction, even absolute orientation.
