Saturday 7: ~Coziness and Responsiveness~

We are warned against being complaining, morose, or indigent, which could emerge from a too self-centered attitude. Venus opposes Saturn within three degrees.

Yet somewhere there is "an old-fashioned signboard suspended from the branch of a tree before an ancient-looking wayside inn." Bygone days come up before the vision of the antiquarian or relic-hunter. The cozy comfort of an "inn" is appreciated.

"A man is walking with two women, their arms linked in his." There could be frivolity, untrustworthiness or insincerity, yet also a light, joyous spirit, mixed with mutual flattery. 

"A man in the midst of brightening influences" finds enduring rewards whenever he or she "accepts life with a realization of the underlying friendliness of the world at large." There can be "a complete spiritual fellowship with human kind." The keyword is Responsiveness.

Sunday 8 October: ^From Suffering to a Brighter Destiny^

"A dog in poor condition whining and cringing" is a sad symbol because there is little more heinous than the abuse or neglect of animals. However, Charubel wants us to realize that we are not ill-treated animals and while we may feel abused, we are only imagining that, "complaining and lamenting instead of acting and achieving." Rather than being morose and indigent we can lift up our heads and recover will-power.

At the other extreme, "a soldier going through his drill," we may get involved in an unjust or unwinnable war, such as the present one in Ukraine, and would be unfortunate---lucky to escape alive. 

However, "A man is in the midst of brightening influences." He finds enduring rewards whenever he or she "accepts life with a realization of the underlying friendliness of the world at large." There can be "a complete spiritual fellowship with human kind." The keyword is Responsiveness. 

Advancing toward the superhuman, we may be cognizant of "an angel standing in mid-air with a long scroll in his hand, unfolded. It is covered with writing." We would do well to read, hear, recall, or otherwise give serious attention to whatever we regard as Messianic teaching.
