Astrology among human activities is relatively passive. As is, for example, weather forecasting. “A storm front will arrive by Saturday with heavy rain and winds through early Monday.” What to do about it? Nothing except adjust, and you know how to do that through your past experience. Or, driving a car is passive, when you have to stop for a red light or obey a speed limit. Driving is partly passive adjustment. So is living, according to astrology, that is, there are hidden, unsuspected trends affecting everything that happens, which only the motions of the planets in our System can show us. You can believe that or not, but it is a premise on which my investigations have been based for decades and I am sure it is a verifiable and verified premise.
One question for astrology then is how to codify results of research. Of which time periods ought one to prognosticate, and how divide them up? I choose the day as my first unit of time and so I write the daily forecasts which you have read at least occasionally if you are reading this. Thank you for taking these musings seriously, and I hope they aid you.
As for longer time-periods, taken as quanta, that is, limited periods during which certain influences or trends remain dominant, does one choose weeks, or months, or lunar weeks, or lunar months, or years? I have tried all that. I have worked extensively with quarter-moon (weekly) charts, conventional-week charts beginning on Saturday or Sunday, monthly Calendar Month charts (not many astrologers believe in those) and Fortnightly charts based on the New and Full moons as their centering basis. All these seem to work, for a while, or occasionally, or frequently, yet somehow they seem inadequate. The skeptic will say they are all arbitrary.
I have searched resolutely, over decades, for something that is not arbitrary, and believe I have found it in the Hermetic Epochs. They are approximately two-month periods based on the cycles of the innermost planet of our System, Mercury. Why? Because they work. That is the only answer. I found that the slow and backward movement of Mercury (in geocentric appearance) marks out what I termed Dark (Slow) Epochs, while the fast-forward cycle of Mercury, when it catches up with the sun and then overpasses it, is the Bright (Fast) Epoch. If you have read these reports you know about this and I shall not expand on it here.
And so, according to yours truly Cosmic Piper, Time for human beings on our planet is double-faceted. The Dark Epochs (almost half the time) are more difficult, complex, confusing, and disorienting, in an outward way, but good for spiritual search and realization. The Bright (fast-forward) Epochs are easier for outward projects and enterprises, for clear orientation within groups, organizations, or businesses, and for “putting things in place” in a way which makes sense to everyone.
Is that all there is to differentiate each Epoch from all of Time? No, there is more, and it is revealed by a chart for the planets of our System at the center of each Epoch when Mercury conjoins the sun, either while in apparent forward motion (Bright Epoch) or apparent backward motion (Dark Epoch). Those charts, which I have been studying thoroughly for significant past time periods, seem to have the essence of all we need to understand what we are going through. Like everything in astrology, they reveal more the more they are studied and contemplated in connection with the events occurring during each particular Epoch. The positions of the planets, and their relationships, at that moment of the Epoch’s Center radiate out, temporally, to include all moments of the Epoch from its start to its finish.
The current Dark Epoch began April 26 and ends June 19, Sunday. The coming Bright Epoch begins June 20 (Monday) and ends August 19. I have already tried to expound some facets of the current Dark Epoch in previous posts, including the one for last weekend. Now let’s consider what might be coming up beginning Monday (which happens to be the day-of-celebration for the Juneteenth holiday).
First, a separate matter, Venus square Saturn. It’s going on now and it began June 10 (tenth) and ends by June 27. It’s the “nobody loves me” aspect and also the “where is my money?” aspect. Venus rules both love and money and Saturn rules loss or delay. Love is delayed and money is delayed. That simple. People invested in crytpo-currencies, for example, are hurting. Where did my money go? Regular investors are hurting: When will the market recover? Women with children say they need help with daycare so they can work to support their families amid rising prices for food, gas and housing. You probably have your own woes which you could spill out for us.
That aspect spans a little of both Epochs so the new Epoch beginning Monday might be disappointing at first, but I believe that it is going to be a smoother, happier Epoch for all of us. True, there is a tendency to put a rosy glow on the future, when predicting, but I think we shall not be disappointed. We may have a happy summer.
First, looking at the aspects among the planets: In the D Epoch now ending, the moon was conjoined with Saturn and both square to Uranus, while Saturn was also square the sun-Mercury conjunction. These are “downer” aspects and I do not need to expand on the sufferings most of us have been experiencing. Saturn helps us to construct things, but amid what seems painful deconstruction of what has to be reconstructed.
In the coming B Epoch, beginning Monday, Saturn remains square Uranus (this is the Pandemic aspect and never wants to end) but is no longer with the moon or square the sun. It is trine Venus, which is calming. Venus and Mars are in a sextile aspect, and both in good aspect to the moon. That looks wonderful. In the D Epoch ending, Venus and Mars were not in aspect and Venus was ill-disposed in Mars’s sign Aries. Relations between the sexes, or romantic relations within them, should get considerably better.
By the house-and-field placements in the new chart, it seems that money woes shall be less painful. Whether the stock market shall recover is impossible to predict but I would guess it shall do better than the “bears” are now predicting. Individual finances of all sorts should be easier to handle.
As for the symbols for the zodiacal degrees occupied by the planets in the B chart, they are never all beautiful and there are some ugly ones, but not as many as in the D chart. I shall cherry-pick among the B symbols and mention three heartening ones:
Jupiter at 8Aries9: Charubel: “A straight road goes in a direct line up to a point from which lead a number of branch roads, parting in four directions. There is a finger-post which points but one way—-the primal way, the direct one.” “One might miss his way in life, but will eventually recover, and become a teacher of others, or prove a reformer as a speaker or writer.”
Mars at 7Taurus8: Charubel: “Two swords form a cross on the ground. A man stands on them with a scepter pointing heavenward.” “A person of peace, one who confides in the higher power.”
The sun-Mercury conjunction at 24Cancer25: Charubel: “A very lofty pine tree.” “A noble person whose mind is fired with grand aspirations and whose good influence will be felt beyond the limits of his neighborhood. His deeds will speak louder than words.”
