~Dedication as Magic~
Moon in Cancer
|Karmically serious or sobering third| of this week begins at 5:21p PT | 8:21p ET | 1:21a(Th) UT, lasting until Saturday morning
"A horseman, armed, is watching the waning moon." Could this be Michael Bloomberg? Joe Biden? Bernie Sanders? This degree represents self-sufficiency, independence, and isolation. By being too domineering one loses support. "A dog and his bone are best left alone." This could be you, if you identify with that feeling sometimes. However, you could respond by acting like "a clown making grimaces," making fun of your misfortune, being inimitably ridiculous at least in your own mind. (It seems Joe Biden has the best sense of humor of the remaining candidates. If Bernie loses, he will not be laughing. A lady who had lost her inheritance told me about it, and laughed. I said, "How can you laugh?" She replied, "What else can I do?")
But if our horseman decides that he is going to recover after mooning over that waning orb, he will be as "an arrow passing through a cloud of smoke." His determination gives direction without vacillation. His path is already marked out, he feels, and what hurts him does not stop him. (Could be you.) He has a mission to accomplish. Which of the candidates is worthy of this description: "A hand with a sword in it enveloped by a halo of golden light. It is to defend the right."
Dedication is magic. "A fire worshiper" links himself with higher forces ("Virat, who lights his camp-fires in the suns" [Sri Aurobindo]) and so demonstrates that he is independent of circumstances, to the point of miracle. This could be at the level of perhaps-ethical struggle, a victory over whatever is wrong or inadequate, or it could be more intellectual-spiritual if one peruses "an ancient hieroglyphic manuscript" to get one's bearings. That volume explicates didacticses for the Magnum Opus of the alchemists, who are not dead.
