On a weekly basis, things seem to be getting easier for most of us. The ratio of "good" or "easy" aspects to difficult ones in the past week was 29; this coming week it shall be 50; and in the week following, February 2nd through 8th, 75 (maximum 100). This ought not to make us lazy or giddily optimistic but it is encouraging. The government shutdown, for one thing, cannot last forever, and there ought to be corresponding improvements in personal situations.
