Some people's so-called humor is not really funny if oneself, or someone one respects, is the butt of the joke. There is an element of quarrel with Mercury square Mars, and sometimes cruelty. This appears to be playing out in the standoff between Trump and Congress, for example. In your own life it takes other forms. One has a tendency to recede into the background to do one's specialized things, which may involve jumbled study or reading, and one wonders when there will be any good outcome from all this.
Selfishness can take harsh forms. Some who are used to putting gain ahead of everything else may not consider how they are affecting others' lives by their greedy pursuits. Keeping one's own nose clean is at least something one can do.
Idealism mixed with beauty and the admiration of the beautiful are inspiring elements. Venus is working up to a trine with Mars, now within six degrees, and that could be felt as a better connection with someone important to one's self-esteem or someone one cares about.
"A military band on the march" could reflect one's sense of mission, that one needs to combat wrong or ignorant attitudes about something important. Having allies (the "band") makes things easier so that one does not feel one is fighting a lonely battle. Why "battle" at all? It's more that people who are struggling to do something good need to be alert to whatever would frustrate their goals and stick together to make things better.
