Moon in Cancer   ****

This appears to be the best day of the week and the best day before the Dark Hermetic Epoch begins on Thursday. So it could be used luckily to straighten out anything you want to set right--to do business (Mercury trine Jupiter), contact or spend time with a friend or loved one (Venus trine Mars), or delve deeper into your relation to the Supreme (moon trine Neptune in Pisces).

Is that enough?

The astrologer-philosopher-theologian-occultist-brilliant thinker Marc Edmund Jones explains that any would-be prophet needs to beware of gilding the lily, or presenting candy predictions to please his hearers, or being other than bluntly honest as the prophet Jeremiah who had to predict that the Chaldaeans would conquer Judea despite the dislike, contempt, and imprisonment this brought upon him. Well, I don't see things as that dire, but:

We are in the throes of the square between Jupiter and Saturn, within two degrees now and increasing until it is exact in the second half of May. That is interesting because we will be in a Dark Hermetic Epoch from Thursday this week until June 7. Dark days ahead? I do not like to scare anyone, or myself, but let's put it this way: We will probably be tested. We will feel deeply that we need to conquer our weaknesses, overcome the addictions which sap our energy or time, and get on with being the self we most respect and honor. This is not egotism but a need to manifest what the soul in us has taken birth to manifest. This is what the Jupiter-Saturn square is proposing to us, if not enforcing. The enforcement could take the form of suffering, pain, or ill-at-ease-ness, depression, a sense of futility, even, at worst, suicidal feelings (which often increase in any DHE). So we need to (a) not be too severely hard on ourselves, and pray for God's mercy, while (b) not being too easy on ourselves and thereby missing our chance to live up to our high ideals for ourselves. Being too hard would be Saturn; being too easy, Jupiter. We have to parent ourselves with both the candy and the stick, as it were. We know deeply what is best for ourselves, but our superficial desires and illusions can intervene and prevent that deep knowledge from taking the lead in our daily actions. So we need to keep reminding ourselves to be our best selves, every hour. To put it as bluntly as perhaps Jeremiah would . . .

Sermon suspended, for now . . .

Meanwhile (candy) it's a four-star day!
