Moon in Scorpio
Moon leaves the Via Combusta at 4:23a PT | 6:23a ET | 11:23a UT

Mercury turns direct (ending its retrograde period, but not the Dark Hermetic Epoch, which continues until March 3) at 6:58a PT | 9:58a ET | 2:58p UT

|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week begins at 8:28a PT | 11:28a ET | 5:28p UT (until Saturday)

/moon goes void-of-course at 9:33p PT | 0:33a(F) ET | 5:33a(F) UT

As usual I have to repeat the weary warning that just because Mercury has turned direct, we cannot expect everything to get suddenly easy. One reason there has been so much skepticism about the importance of Mercury Retrograde is that when it turns direct, often nothing seems to change--things are still snarled and slow and difficult. The reason? The Dark Hermetic Epoch, which always extends almost three weeks on both sides of the Retrograde period. I don't like it but I didn't make it; I just report it faithfully.

Also, today begins the weekly Saturnine period of "hard karma" or challenge lasting through Friday (this time, moving gradually toward earlier in the week). This is normal but can be disappointing. Lowering expectations can be helpful, as a prophylactic against disappointment. "People have their issues" and that explains a lot of what we run into at these times. "Oh, is he, she, still that way, still doesn't get it?" Alas.

Still, Luna trines Venus in late morning-early afternoon, and Mars in the evening up until the void-of-course (past midnight in the East). So there can be some of what a conjunction of Mars and Venus in Venus's sign of exaltation promises, namely, spiritual or delicate yet solid love based in real appreciation of the Other and a desire for her or his well-being. If this takes on somewhat an aura of sacrifice, what of that? That is just a test of love.

One teacher had a sadistic side and liked to punish the
Children, within lawful limits, even if psychologically.
But another guardian of the young protected them and
Cherished, giving them freedom to grow and be.

Some of them seemed compelled, by genes and horoscopes,
To live out robot lives of eager seeking for the transi-
Tory. Others relaxed into fresh, thrilling spontaneity.
The romance of youth needed self-appreciation.

Some, who would have carried helical scrolls centuries
Ago, were lost in cell phones, endless cycles of texting and
Calling and looking for the trivial. A few found groups in
Which to share communal interests or rabid enterprise.

  1. These are never "weary warning". Children sing their ABC's incessantly as they learn and even later. Consider these reminders as our (your reader) ABC's.

If I ever get this set to music, I'll let you know. :-)
