Special Report: Overcoming Depression from Mistrust

Extra Message: Overcoming the Depression of Mistrust

The moon is void-of-course. I said in the forecast for Saturday that it would be a good Sabbath day, for rest or "doing nothing" except, of course, praise and bless the Supreme Lord.

But I am troubled by a lot of thoughts about the current time and feel that I might aid some of you if I express them.

Let's put it this way to begin:  We listed, a few days ago, the first three items or tendencies of the Dark Hermetic Epoch (January 5 to March 3), with ways of rising above them. Now, #4:

4. Distrust or Mistrust or Whom do I Trust? This can be a serious problem during the Dark Hermetic Epoch. I believe there are more divorces during this time, or almost-divorces; and more resignations from jobs. One starts to distrust one's mate or employer, pastor or teacher, and on and on. In a way, this has already been covered by #2, Doubt. But Distrust can have endless winding complications and be very depressing.

4. Finding the Trustworthy. Here is the solution. But I have to say, and not just because today is the Sabbath (or tomorrow for many Christians), there is only One who is totally Trustworthy! That is why, I believe, Sri Aurobindo, although early in his teaching he emphasized serving humanity, later turned that into serving the Divine. That is, serving the One--whether visualized as Mother or Father--who transcends all human institutions, formulas, and individuals. Because what finite individual or institution is totally trustworthy? Your best friends, and the teachers or gurus or guides you believe in, are all trustworthy--up to a point. But you know that they are not omniscient and you may even know they are incompetent in certain areas, or that their judgment seems to be off on certain issues important to you. Who then is totally trustworthy? For monotheists, the answer is simple. And I am one of them, although, along with Sri Aurobindo, I acknowledge other divine or semi-divine beings and powers, lesser aspects of the One though never trumping Him or Her.

All this becomes important now because of the aspect I mentioned in Saturday's report: Saturn square Neptune. This is increasing; it began November 8 and continues through June 16; then vanishes for a while but returns, not to leave finally until December 18, 2016. That's almost two years from now, so let's get on this learning curve!

Saturn can be materialism (such as the materialist satirists of Charlie Hebdo in Paris) and Neptune religion or spirituality (such as the Muslims seriously offended by "Charlie"s deliberately incendiary and offensive depictions of their Prophet). Well, do I have to say more? These two in an intense conflict ended as they ended. That it happened shortly after this aspect began is very enlightening. We need to prepare ourselves to prevent more of the same.

Then, in the new Christian Science Monitor Weekly which arrived yesterday in my mail, the cover depicts a huge red cross being removed by a crane from a church in China. The Chinese government is again persecuting Christians.

Now Saturn is in Sagittarius, since December 23, and that is "the" sign of religion--ruled by Jupiter, and the "natural ninth house" which governs outward forms and institutions of religion as well as, at best, their inner meaning. Saturn in Sagittarius can mean many other things, but one thing is "religious problems" either through oppression of religion or through intense conservatism within religions--or, more likely, both. That the "Charlie Hebdo" terror happened just after both of these astrological trends began is very revealing. That the Communists in China are again persecuting the Christians--who have been growing in numbers by leaps and bounds--is also not surprising.

A deep side of Saturn square Neptune is distrust, and spying, and suffering because of deception, or deceiving oneself and others. It seems to me that the perfect depiction of the aspect would be a "double agent" in a masterful spy novel--preferably a double agent whose constant attempt to be on both sides finally drove him over the brink into insanity. We are going to have to watch for such trends in ourselves, every one of us.

Where are you conflicts of loyalties? That could be worth considering. How far do you trust your best friends, and in what areas? When you feel distrustful, is that honest, or is it a cowardly trend in yourself? How do you state, defend, or espouse your loyalties to people or religion or politics or whatnot without offending those who then could wreak reprisals on you? (Be true to your Neptune soul while not upsetting the "authorities"?) The Christians in China are going through these turmoils. The article in the Monitor Weekly (which I wish everyone could read) makes it clear that there are absolutely no conventional gains for Christians in China--the Communist Party rules, and Party members are forbidden to be Christian! So of course Christians at work are passed over for promotions, are passed over for the best apartments or living arrangements, and so on. Why do they become Christians? As one Chinese lady put it, "Because we are looking for love, which we don't find in our institutions." They want Neptune, not just Saturn.

While Saturn, in the sign of religion, is restricting its practice--in very unjust and duplicitous ways, such as manufacturing other fake reasons for tearing down churches or removing crosses.

Back to ourselves: The depression I was feeling today partly derived from the moon being void-of-course, party from this square we are discussing, and party from other factors--but I thought I needed to alert you to this. If you feel "woozy" about someone, or some group, or some loyalty, or belief, or system--a little distrustful of it, or not seeing how to reconcile it with your other interests--you are experiencing this aspect, which we need to learn how to experience wisely over the next two years.

More about it later . . . this is meant to be First Aid.

And if you want to know more about the persecution in China, visit this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ChinaAidAssociation?ref=br_tf This group was founded by Bob Fu, a Chinese Christian whose persecution in China was unbearable, so that he came to the U. S. and now runs the China Aid Association trying to help his persecuted brothers and sisters in China.
