He couldn't put his thoughts into philosophy or logic,
But felt attuned to freely driven harmonies.
He lacked good sense, it seemed, yet pigeons seemed
To like him and give him messages. His strange
Intelligence cared not to work, but lazed away
On daisies, beneath trees, accepting changeless destiny.
A girl passing by saw the pigeons and tossed them food.
He smiled but didn't speak. A woman who charmed snakes
Came by. She had hypnotized many a man wantonly,
But he was impervious to any form of poisoned love.
