We are in the toils of a conjunction of Venus with Saturn, in Scorpio. This is not terrible but brings out the hidden and deeper side of love. It's a "test of love" as I have frequently put it. You may cleave more strongly than ever to those you regard as your closest allies or companions. Along with that, there can be grief or sadness over others who are missing from your life or seem to have rejected you. Loyalties are tested. The ones which survive are "true blue."
The day's lunar aspects are pleasant, Luna sextile both Uranus and Jupiter. This helps to bring cheer. You are sensing strongly what to do to bring your world into order, and this will be even stronger by Monday when the Bright Hermetic Epoch is definitely under way for two months (till January 5). The sun and Venus with Saturn mean "No nonsense," and yet there is spiritual depth in that configuration especially because it is in Scorpio. Mars with Pluto in Capricorn suggests a strong impulse to be your best self in terms of career, standing, or honor--whatever makes you feel good about yourself. Jupiter's square with Saturn, increasing, is "What have I done with my life? How would I account for it?" But this can be constructive and uplifting if you rise to the challenge your soul points out.
Climbing up the ladder, he wonders where it really goes.
A landing. Pheasants in the distance, so many that
They seem illimitable. He grasps the hand-rail at the top.
What is his life about? Has he more value than the pheasants?
He constructs a wand with a glass globe at the top,
And fills it with aromatics. He waves it for the
World, which feels its strong healing effects. A woman
Nude is attracted. She displays her charms alluringly.
More interesting to him is a girl feeding the birds.
Her natural hospitality is charming. A buffalo nearby
Snorts and paws the ground. He would scorn her
Kindness, and the aromatic magic. Freedom is his law.
I'm not suggesting that the buffalo is the one we ought to emulate, although he has his place even in the consciousness of an Initiate or advanced soul. So does the kindly girl and the odoriferous magician . . .
