*Wary but Calm and Positive Turning Point*

Artistry and music are possible on a Friday, ruled by Venus, even though we are in the |difficult third of the week| today and tomorrow. It lifts around noon (in the Western Hemisphere, later in the Eastern) on Sunday. This might be called the |touchy| or the |soul-searching| third of the week. People are more serious than usual. Therefore they can be grouchy and it is well to be specially patient with them and oneself.

Another way this comes out, on a party day, is that people feel inwardly so miserable that they determine intensely to have a good time to counteract the bad mood, so they party big-time; then end up with a headache or fistfight or lovers' quarrel on their hands. I have seen this happen countless times. A neighbor once threw a party almost regularly during the |difficult third|. I never talked with him about this because I knew he would not heed my advice. His parties started out well but ended with arguments, yelling and bitter feelings. When the |difficult third| moved to earlier in the week, he moved his parties also to those days, all without knowing anything about astrology. It was a compulsion to seek relief from the |touchy third| but the |soul-searching third| trumped his well-intentioned parties. And people say astrology is based on blind belief! No, for me it is based on such careful daily observation for a period of decades.

However, for him in his situation, perhaps this was exactly the right thing to do. It had to be done, as it were. So, for today, I do not say "stay home and brood" but take with you wherever you go an awareness of what I said above. It will help you prevent things from getting out of hand. You and others are likely to be paranoid or hypersensitive without realizing it.

The male gene often wants to start a fight just to see what will happen, to challenge another male and objectify grudges and intense feelings. This can be expected today or tonight. But for those who can take a higher view, all this can be an interesting psychodrama (so long as no one gets seriously hurt).

Desperation is possible when people feel, as they do now (Jupiter opposite Saturn through September) that they are re-evaluating their lives in preparation for a better phase. Change requires giving something up in order to replace it. Not easy. So the sense of being lost needs to be counteracted through faith in your spiritual guidance or the Supreme.

"Who are my allies?" is a useful question.

Yes, this is the first day of the Bright Hermetic Epoch extending through July 31. You are able to systematize things. We have all gone through phases of wanting to make our lives perfectly organized, with daily schedules down to the hour or minute, and other phases of demanding more freedom to improvise. Now you may be more in the former mood, that is, you can make lists of priorities and set up schedules for yourself. A sense of order within time is a wonderful tool sustaining psychological health.

I don't know what "mining" means to you, but there is a sense of mining or securing useful things through unglamorous endeavors, using materials available to you to become prosperous in your own way (misunderstood by many).

You are examining and analyzing what you can do and the right ways to do it, and through curiosity and improvised methods could arrive at something useful.

If near or on water or swimming or boating it could be well to be specially careful. Or there may be merely non-dangerous delays or obstructions in such matters. Many will be at a point of pause surveying, subconsciously, the new Epoch beginning today, not yet able to set forth into it with confidence but building that confidence inwardly.
