Mercury is slowing down and shall turn retrograde on Wednesday the 23d. The effects of a slow Mercury have already been with us since August 4 but are intensifying. For example, there is a big problem with passports, which affects many people, rather bafflingly since in 2023 we are supposed to have improved technology for such things but instead it appears worse. This from The Hill: "The deepening backlog of passport applications has spurred a flood of calls to Senate offices and new efforts to ease the process for Americans to get the documents they need for overseas travel.
"Wait times for Americans who have applied for new or renewed passports have jumped multiple times this year. Applicants are currently waiting 10 to 13 weeks to receive their new passports unless they pay extra for an expedited process of 7 to 9 weeks."
One of Friday's symbols is a repeat from Thursday: "An ostrich" is someone "of large build, lofty looks, and pompous. In appearance, a giant; in assumption, a hero; but when his valor is put to the proof, one who despises the ideas of another and has none of his own. 'A sounding brass and a tinkling symbol.'" You may know one or more such persons. As for the political arena, they are not absent from it. (Nor from the Passport Office, it would appear.)
"A flag at half-mast" suggests that "Reputation is the subtle coin by which personality creates an enduring wealth for everyone, to be preserved no less in death than in life." Whether or not the passing of some important individual occurs is moot; it's possible we may be thinking about someone who has made "some measure of immortal contribution to history." A cornerstone of the impressive Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign is the surviving influence of his father and his uncle, JFK, both of whom were martyred (by agencies of their own government, as has been documented). The keyword is Respect.
"A rock, and men getting large granite stones out of it" is a peculiar symbol denoting "success with the most ordinary things of this world. One might even become wealthy by means which other people would consider beneath their notice." For whatever it's worth, the direction north is said to be fortunate.
"A bright mirror in which the sun's rays are reflected" represents a brilliant intellect, making its mark by means of learning, either assimilating the ideas of others or developing original schemes or inventions. There is sympathy, kindness, and generosity. The keyword is Shining.
