We start with refreshing rural symbols. "A strong farmer's cart, and a horse to match. The cart is loaded with farmyard manure." Charubel says this indicates scientific agriculture, for one thing, but also "an industrious person," namely yourself. We hold our nose to do what needs to be done.

"Four long posts at right angles forming a square: and four rails fastened horizontally to the top of each" make up "the rude framework of some temporary building or shanty." If this does not describe where we currently bivouac, we might be on the move as "an explorer, discoverer, traveler; one whose history will be marked by more than one exploit."  

Are there dangers? "A tiger is preparing to spring on two white cows in a jungle." The cows may represent "a prosperous marriage" or other advantages which the "tiger" could ruin, bringing temporary sorrow. We are familiar with this happening on all sides in the political sphere, and it is not pleasant, nor does the "tiger" of malicious lawfare have a constitutional right to most of his depredations. 

Whether or not the tiger springs, Hope springs eternal. While it seems that "all fails" while both Mercury and Venus are retrograde, fresh ideas can dawn and be nurtured even if somewhat premature. Both Mercury and the sun trining Jupiter provide an underlying sense of well-being, so that in our brighter moments we feel "The dawn of a new day, everything changed." "Illimitable potentialities" are found within "personal participation in everyday affairs" and one can "blaze a path of special recognition for each particular characteristic of selfhood." And so, despite the lugubriousness of planetary backwardness, one might be ready for the keyword Innovation at least on the mental horizon.

The most foreboding symbol of the day is that of two white cows in a jungle upon whom a tiger is ready to spring. There could be a prosperous marriage or relationship, but too much relaxation gives a false sense of security. The "tiger" is most likely temporary trouble. 

As protection there is the Constancy of one who has firm and steadfast character, holding resolutely to his own beliefs and principles even when not advantageous. 

One is in the public eye, on "a coach heavily laden with passengers." One does much for others but may be poorly treated in return. There are duties to oneself as well.

"A lion whose head is the only part exposed" reminds me of the famous D. J. Trump mugshot, and Trump is indeed a "lion" with Leo rising in his birth chart with formidable Mars therein. "Ever on the defensive and alert for any attack," he provokes his opponent's onslaught.

It's the peak day of the |difficult third| of this week, and Mercury and Venus are retrograde. Not easy, yet the septile between Venus and Mars suggests some romantic impetus. In the political sphere, we all know of such individuals, and they exist sometimes among friends. Let us hope they are not reflections of something in ourselves.

I am really weary of political "lawfare" but we have "a person with wig and gown" who "excels in forensic science." Let us hope the freedoms of our Constitution shall be protected.

Perhaps so, because there is "a trilithon [three branches of government?] with an iron gate" as Defense. 

Also, in some place of refuge you may experience "a man and woman standing with their backs to each other." They are reserved or bashful, feeling awkward. Yet there is kindness along with delicacy and modesty. 

We experience the Constancy of "a jutting rock upon which tufts of grass hold a thin but certain existence." We determine what is the right thing to do whether immediately advantageous or not, manifesting steadfast character. 

Therefore "the light of the sixth race" shall be "transmuted to the seventh." Some Theosophists and occultists believe we are headed toward "a seventh climactic manifestation of human culture" in which "every individual is within full reach of his or her own ultimate potential." I made fun of "A butterfly 'made perfect' by a dark through it" in the Sunday forecast. I love butterflies. I would say, "A collection of butterfly photos" to make it more humane. Make of it what you will. The keyword is supposed to be Articulation. I hope butterflies are doing well these days.

"A room full of machinery and jars of chemicals" denotes "a scientist, chemist, or inventor with great power of perception; a promising experimentalist." Obviously I prefer astrology; but what does it mean to you?

There is security, prudence and caution in a place which seems "guarded by a strong iron gate." There you rest in justice and self-restraint. You have chosen to be reticent. Some people collect butterflies, kill them, and display them on boards with darts through them. Seems silly to me, but Dr. Jones says this symbol's keyword is Articulation. 

It seems as pointless as the next symbol, a broken wheel on the ground while a horse grazes nearby. Are we Aimless? Aiming a dart at a butterfly is also aimless, if you ask me. (That symbol is linked to Mars's entrance into the air sign Libra.) Mars puts down his arms and chases butterflies? That would be wonderful if it happened in Ukraine. 

However, "a soldier is prepared for battle." He is "a ready and willing friend and a redoubtable opponent." There are executive powers and efficiency. In Ukraine and Russia, people fight with weapons; in America, by twisting laws to do what they were never meant to do.

"A trilithon" above an iron gate is Defense. Spiritual rectitude translates into physical defense.

We are still looking for that "man greater than a man" who can resolve problems and be a guiding light while the sun illumines the tops of the forest's trees.

Yes, we are in the Dark Hermetic Epoch and (a) Prigozhin has apparently been killed and not many think it's an accident, (b) Trump is being "killed" by lawfare, together with his lawyers, (c) I had a hard day Thursday which I won't celebrate here, and (d) what about you? 

"A broken wheel is on the ground while a horse grazes nearby." Rather than being executive one wants to be laissez faire, letting things drift though aimlessness. Still one may be moderately fortunate.

If more motivated, one may be like "a man in a skullcap working with scientific instruments," an industrious investigator, fond of experiments which eventually succeed. There is not only intelligence but security through caution and stability. One may be "a refuge for the weak and helpless" as symbolized by "A trilithon: Two strong pillars of stone with a horizontal thwart." "Within his gate there is peace and security, rest and satisfaction." Justice and self-restraint are a defense.

In many ways it could be a dismal day, being the peak of the |difficult third of this week| plus the second day of Mercury's retrograde period (until September 15). "A man peeping around a corner at a company of armed men who are reconnoitering" is suggestive of the malicious and legally questionable lawsuits in Georgia against Donald Trump and some of his cohorts including lawyer Rudi Giuliani, who himself "peeped around a lot of corners" in his long career as an anti-crime official in New York City. This also raises the question "What really happened to Prigozhin?" the military leader who dared to rebel, mildly, against Putin a couple months ago and was just killed in a plane crash near Moscow. Charubel says this degree indicates "a strategist, well adapted for the army; but his proclivities might appear, at times, anything but enviable."

The symbols are trying to point us toward something better than that. "An angel of the sun stands erect and strikes the earth with the point of a dazzling sword." This indicates superiority, fame, and power. Who might it be, in your eyes? "An imposing figure who gains wide recognition." I hope it could be R. F. Kennedy Jr. who is worthy of the moniker "angelic."

But the angel faces a tiger ready to spring at two white unsuspecting cows. Bobby is saying fresh and wise things about the future of farming and how to protect the small farmer against the "tiger" of factory farming.  Or the "tiger" could be the lawfare suits against Trump and his lawyers including Jenna Ellis and John Eastman.  

It is also wise to beware of scams when both Mercury and Venus are going backward. Statistics show that more and more Americans are vulnerable to them, from all age groups, so one cannot blame exclusively either careless senescence or foolish adolescence. 

Where do we look for salvation from all this suicidal nonsense, including the misbegotten Ukraine war? "A man among men. Thousands will look up to him for light and guidance" while the sun floods the tops of the trees of a forest with glowing rays. He remains invisible or unheralded; recognized but by a few. 

Meanwhile there is more to consider than politics. "The possibilities of greater experience lie in embryo throughout the lesser." Let's hope that today those fighting such crimes will make notable progress. In your personal life you can look at the symbol from the viewpoint of yourself being the villain, or the victim.

"An earthquake" shows a need to prevent any calamity or reversal of fortune. Strong faith in the ultimate goodness of all events would help. Then one might enjoy, through "industrious and husbandly habits," the fruitfulness and success of "a wide-branching tree."

A Republican presidential debate is scheduled in Milwaukee, but I doubt any of the candidates is this splendid person, especially since Trump will not be there. My candidate for "a man among men" at this moment would be Tucker Carlson, because he is willing to expose truths the Establishment tries hard to conceal, and very importantly the man he most recently interviewed, Colonel Douglas Macgregor. This seasoned, brilliant and hyper-informed military man knows what he is talking about when it comes to the Ukraine war and we all need to take heed. It is, in short, a disaster for Americans, Ukrainians and the world and we need to stop funding it pronto. Neither Macgregor nor Tucker is bald, but are signified by "a bald-headed man" because that personage demonstrates "accomplishment through complete self-mastery and a rigid control of others." The keyword, Dominance, is what both Zelensky and Putin want, but the peace table is the only way they can save themselves, and the sooner the better. Why so many don't yet see this is beyond me.

Are there superhuman beings to help us? Yes and no, because taking advantage of their help would require some appropriate response. For example, there is a big problem with passports, which affects many people, rather bafflingly since in 2023 we are supposed to have improved technology for such things but instead it appears worse. This from The Hill: "The deepening backlog of passport applications has spurred a flood of calls to Senate offices and new efforts to ease the process for Americans to get the documents they need for overseas travel.

"Wait times for Americans who have applied for new or renewed passports have jumped multiple times this year. Applicants are currently waiting 10 to 13 weeks to receive their new passports unless they pay extra for an expedited process of 7 to 9 weeks."

One of Friday's symbols is a repeat from Thursday: "An ostrich" is someone "of large build, lofty looks, and pompous. The fires in West Maui are said to have been caused by a wind-storm knocking over a power line. There are reports from three different American school districts that an AI program for school buses made some children get home as late as 10 pm, without food or water or rest rooms for long periods. Parents are furious. Sepharial says this symbol indicates Foolishness, pride and obstinacy, unallied to anything of merit. Or, more happily in some cases one might go against public opinion (the wind) because of adherence to strong principles.

This emblem also elucidates, in general, the problem that Venus retrograde during a Dark or Slow Mercury Epoch presents, namely, confusions to be untangled, as in the case of someone making a proposal to me which I simply cannot understand because of its specialized language or perhaps because it has not been thought through thoroughly. (We shall try again, most likely.)

Not all is combat or confusion, but "a lion whose head is the only part exposed" is on the defensive, prepared for any attack. Consciousness of his superior strength makes him void of fear. Yesterday I mentioned how the final few days of an Old Moon make us lackadaisical or seeming to need extra rest. The New Moon shall happen in the very early hours of Wednesday. On Monday as I write I had a quite peaceful morning and did a little physical exercise.  Do you notice a slowdown in your own case? With Venus retrograde, I found myself listening to old music, jazz from the 1950s. Other aspects of the Monday forecast came true for me. Did you find yourself cooperating with important people in an unusual manner?

We are definitely in a Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch (August 4 through September 29) and it can include a lot of backtracking. I have had computer problems. But it can also include REview of one's life and attempts to do better. Old habits resurface, even addictions, but one can shake free of them. Today that could be a challenge because one symbol is "A man walking through mud knee-deep." There could be "perished hopes and abortive speculations" and finally "a plunge into the dark." The struggle against limiting habit-patterns, however, could be successful.

We are in "a swimming race" in U. S. politics, to the point that I get weary of hearing the pundits' punditry and contradictory opinions. The keyword of that symbol is Elimination and it certainly seems that it is time for some of the candidates to admit that they have been or are going to be eliminated. A friend is, in cleaning his apartment, eliminating stuff that has been in his way or making him feel unclean. That is Mars and Mercury together in Virgo trine Jupiter in Taurus, both earth signs. \Innocence as Protective/

I've reported that the Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch is with us from August 4 through September 29. It can be good, and yet peculiar. For example, in the last few days one friend has abandoned me, or gone missing, while another who has been stand-offish for months unexpectedly wanted to chat. This could have to do with Venus square Uranus, exact this week, signifying unexpected changes (for good or ill) in friendships. People have to be their unique selves and that requires tolerance.

I usually don't take account of Uranus's symbol in the daily reports, but do in the weekly charts. This week and last it is at the degree symbolized by Borelli-Sepharial as "A king sits upon a throne; behind him stands a figure veiled in black." Unless you have not noticed the news for weeks you must be thinking of Donald Trump. The "veiled figure" wanting to bring him down (the keyword is Collapse) could be Jack Smith the prosecutor, but also the judge appointed who is said to have shown great enmity to Trump in the past and whom he is trying to have recused from the case.

Working with the symbols should be an individual experience and so I ought not over-interpret them but let you find personal applications which fit you and maybe no one else on the planet. Here are the four for today according to the regular formula:

"A giant amusing himself with a child's doll" is reminiscent of the Barbie movie, perhaps, though I have not seen it so can say nothing savvy. The giant has great abilities but "condescends to employ his time and energies in the pursuit of what is childish, whimsical, and worthless, making himself a laughing-stock." We should apply ourselves instead to what could "bring about great and beneficial changes on the earth."

"A naked infant exposed in a dreary place is surrounded by beasts and birds of prey. But by some strange power unseen this embodied picture of innocence is protected." This could be a reminder to pray for, or otherwise try to protect, the children subject to human trafficking at our southern border and elsewhere. On the personal level, despite cruelty leveled against us we "come off, eventually, the victor.." "No weapon formed against him shall prosper." 

"A man felling a tree" is "capable of enduring long and hard work." He or she is "attached to rustic things and the wild habits of the woodland life." He or she "sees good and finds contentment in the rudest work productive of current necessities." A good friend with a soft heart. Keyword: Simplicity.

"An ouija board" dramatizes "effective anticipation or a true rational divination" according to Dr. Jones. We "master life through creative sensitiveness to the illimitable potentials." "Coming events have a myriad of signatures on which one can count." The keyword is Acumen.

It may be advantageous to read, or hang out with, such a person.

The new Dark (Slow) Hermetic Epoch of about two months, lasting through September 29, began Friday, but technically on Thursday evening at about 5:08p PT | 8:08p ET | 0:08a(F) UT. It should be an interesting time, and not a bad one even though the DHEs are usually more confusing and sometimes seem like backsliding. For example, a friend who was supposed to call me this morning (as I write on Friday) did not call and I cannot locate him. Another friend explained to me that he is too busy with working on a project to chat for now. However, on the happy side, a third friend told me, just an hour after the DHE began, that he has made serious progress with several major issues and he sounded happy. That confirms my belief that this DHE could be quite pleasing, what with Mars sextile Venus at its center plus sun and Mercury trine Jupiter. We shall see, but I am optimistic which is why I said this might be a good vacation period for those to whom that is possible.

Saturday: The lazy side of the DHE is brought out by "A broken wheel lying upon the ground while a horse grazes nearby." This can be drifting or want of direction, or maybe a not-unfortunate laissez-faire attitude to things.

Opposite to this is "A pyramid of red conspicuously situated on a large open plain." That could be strength of will and great energy, circumventing the drift of the previous paragraph. "Strong animal passions may occasion some trouble. This person will 'never say die'."

This is the first day of a Dark (Slow) Hermetic Epoch lasting until September 30. It is not bad but it is interesting, and I have been feeling some of its effects already for a week or so because it seems to "cast its shadow before." 1. Old friends become important, either in their absence or presence, or by being absent when present or present when absent. Venus is retrograde and love is wandering, confused and lost. 2. Spiritual experiences can be wonderful, whether dreams or daydreams or profound cogitations bringing elements of your life together which are usually disparate. 3. Confusions in politics and lawfare, such as the indictment (again) of Trump this week. I like Alan Dershowitz's take on that. (The Dershow is his podcast.) 4. Much noise and disruption in my neighborhood. 5. The horror of war does not necessarily get worse because it is possible that people might sense the utter futility of it. We should not be funding the Ukraine war. Listen to sane, informed people like Col. Douglas MacGregor, Alistaire Crooke, Scott Ritter, Tony Shaffer, Larry Johnson, Ray McGovern, and Matthew Hoh. You can hear their expert opinions on Judge Andrew Napolitano's podcast, Judging Freedom. It provides the clearest, most comprehensive information about the Russia-Ukraine mess that I have found anywhere and listening to it will convince you that this inhumane war has to stop. Is there anything more important than that when, as Scott Ritter warns emphatically, it could lead to nuclear devastation?
