Aces and 8s: Epstein and Capricorn
Epstein's suicide occurred during a quincunx between the 8th and 1st for the sign Capricorn, which is his sun-sign. This is called the "anuretic" or sometimes death-dealing aspect, although usually it is just a crisis. And the planets involved, Saturn with the sun, make it crucial--the sun ruling Capricorn's 8th house (death) and Saturn ruling that sign's first house (the body, the personal self as incarnate). On Saturday morning when the suicide (some think homicide, but no evidence for that now) occurred, the sun was at 17 Leo and Saturn at 15 Capricorn. Even closer was the quincunx of Venus from the Capricorn 8th (Leo) to the 1st (Capricorn: Venus at 15 Leo and Saturn at 15 Capricorn. This is significant because Venus is the planet of women and girls, obviously playing a major role in all this. It is interesting that in some Poker legend, Aces and 8s are considered a "death hand." It almost seems that this is derived from the meanings of the astrological houses and the quincunx between the 8th and first, considered an "anuretic" or death aspect, potentially. For most Capricorn people now this is nothing that serious but perhaps a personal critical upheaval to be met with all the soul power they can summon.
