Usually I write a separate forecast for holidays, that is, the day itself, but this time I am going to give myself a holiday instead. So this report includes the three days of the weekend. The rest is repeated, with modifications, from what was written in the previous weak.

This tends to show that it will be an introspective holiday weekend. It is better to refrain from expecting too much from other people. They may be pondering serious matters in their lives and feel somewhat remote from you. 

And now, some repetition, with variations, of what was posted about the Month of Virgo (August 23 through September 22):

I might say "All systems go" for anything progressive. The Grand Trine in earth signs is very strong, accented by Luna joining the sun in Virgo Friday, and we are in a Bright Hermetic Epoch (until October 11). I have a feeling that many of us may miss opportunities. If you feel ready for some special new project or ambition, this may be just the time for it, this month of Virgo (through September 22).

The Virgo month includes Labor Day which is appropriate since Virgo is the "natural 6th house" of work or service.

I am looking at the chart for the exact middle of the Virgo month (August 23 through September 22). This method works. Interpreting the future, however, is never easy and fraught with difficulties. Here are some clues:

My first impression is: A very smooth month. Much smoother than the month of Leo just ended. There is a Grand Trine, very favorable, in earth signs. There are four planets in Virgo, three in Capricorn, and one in Taurus, making eight of ten in earth signs, a very practical focus.  The Mode of Self-Integration is Objective, while it was Subjective last month. This make it easier for us to keep our feet on the ground and do good things and advance our prospects and get things straightened out in the material world. It is easier to conform to what is required by life, and this brings luck. 

Virgo males: Apologies for calling your sign "the Girl" but that is really what the Latin means--a young woman, with no real reference to whether she has had sexual experience. That was a later development in language, so that now we use the word "virginal" and "virgin" to mean "without sexual experience." Male Virgos can be very male indeed, yet always with the savoir faire which might be resembled to that of a young woman, or the sense of kindness and servility---except that "servile" has come to be a bad word---or service-orientation, a desire to aid people. That can be masculine as much as feminine. Male Virgos who are in the military are very detail-oriented, and good at fulfilling duties to a T.   

Love is real, with Venus trine Saturn and Pluto. Her opposition with Neptune and square with Jupiter require patience with the loved one's opinions, or religious or spiritual orientation, which may be different from yours in a way which can be disturbing. Four oppositions with Neptune in Pisces suggest issues around addictions of any kind. Dependence on the Supreme is wonderful, while dependence on drugs or drink is not. Minimal or carefully monitored usage of course is a personal choice. 

There is momentum toward getting things done in accord with family, national or group values, and one is indomitable when pursuing what truly makes sense. Idealism is strong, mixing well with the practical focus, so that one can bring the real into accord with one's ideals. One may find oneself encouraging and supporting talents and capacities in others which they don't even realize they have. Only two planets are retrograde, and a Bright Hermetic Epoch covers the month, so there are no barriers to wise and effective planning and acting.

\Beginning Grand Adventure?/

New Moon of Virgo occurs at 3:38a PT | 6:38a ET | 10:38a UT

I might say "All systems go" for anything progressive. The Grand Trine in earth signs is very strong, accented by Luna joining the sun in Virgo today, and we are in a Bright Hermetic Epoch (until October 11). I have a feeling that many of us may miss opportunities. If you feel ready for some special new project or ambition, this may be just the time for it, this month of Virgo (through September 22).

"A man making a futurist drawing" fits in with this. It is time to be experimentative and maybe take risks. It is unlikely that this would be so extreme as to offend people. Explorers and discoverers have to make temporary "shanties," or extemporize in new situations.

You may waver between being out in public, interacting with a lot of people, and on the other hand retiring to a quiet contemplative situation surrounded by natural beauty. Ideally both are possible.

"Entering a dark tunnel" is what you might do if succumbing to defeatism.

One symbol warns against "entanglement," "A woman blindfold, and a man leading her." The correlative Sabian symbol is "A bride with her veil snatched away," keyword: Invitation. I leave the interpretation of these to you, for your own situation. One life tangled with another can be good or not depending on a multitude of factors. Perhaps it is wise to realize one's independence and freedom even while within an "entangled" or marriage-like situation.

There seems a likelihood of a lot of connections with people, in a jocose, friendly manner, people "playing" with one another while they are on the way to somewhere, coming or going. They are learning from one another, "dancing" as it were, not too concerned about anything but the momentary interchange. This could be exhilarating but you might feel that people are "using" you to a degree or giving little in return for your kindness. 

But deeper interpersonal relations are rather cool or almost legalistic. If not involved in divorce or separation yourself, you may hear of or discuss someone else's divorce or separation. People are not necessarily being unkind, but chaste and centered more in self-interest than in effusive relationship. (The previous paragraph shows another level of things at a more superficial level.)

We may be alert to the possibility of gain, or research it in a detective manner: "Sea gulls watching a ship." 

In accord with the stellium (four planets) in Virgo, and other factors, you are up for the utility of things, for seeing how to use them, how to direct everything flexibly for intelligent advantage. It's as if you were wanting to live up to your potentials, "A boy molded in his mother's aspiration for him," and do that as an expression of your family line or other group standards. There could be impressive success in this, despite the moon being void-of-course so long, especially if you handle necessities of a routine sort that just need to be done rather than try anything drastically new.

Luna is decreasing in light (apparent size) before the New Moon which comes early Friday. This may account for the oppositions within the symbols for the day, for we have high aspirations but may slack off into summer laziness and fun-time.

The law is emphasized, for those who have any current dealings with it, and then there could be progress in legal cases. Or one might read or hear about something of a legal nature which is promising or helpful. 

But we might divert at any time to the "merry-go-round" of diversions and pleasures. What is a nice summer day for, anyway?

There could be experimentation along practical lines such as with machinery, technology, chemistry. This fits with the Virgo emphasis, a health and service sign, and the Grand Trine in earth signs. 

Then there comes this possibility: "A man and a woman playing together, with fruits, flowers, and wine upon a table beside them." That's pleasure, pure and simple, with "a joyous, youthful nature" plus "the qualities which make a cheerful companion and a successful lover." 

When there are doubts about this, the "groundhog" or your questioning nature can see its "shadow" or otherwise get its bearings. What does this mean: "A bag of money upon a table, near to which stands a dark woman masked"? Good fortune, attracting friends and money. But it might be a source of trouble "through the machinations of a woman." A little of Sepharial's Victorian distrust of women, maybe even misogyny, seems to pervade that interpretation. Yet he says we could be sociable, generous, industrious, and fortunate. What's wrong then? We could be "weak-willed," naive, and victimized by someone using us. Good fortune is seductive. Oh well. Life is for living.

There is ability to communicate, even though the moon is void-of-~course, although one ought to avoid intensely difficult, serious topics, or at least refrain from pursuing them to a point of offense or backlash.

Legal or semi-legal matters may be on your mind. "Who is guilty of what" is not a pleasant topic but sometimes has to be faced. Those restricted, whether in prison or a harem, may see both justice and injustice in their situation. Patience is needed during a v-of-c, especially when in a |difficult third|. 

An easy, quiet, uneventful day is possible, though one might better prepare for some eventualities. Not worrying or anxiety but simple common sense can make one ready to respond to duty. Then one would be honorable and successful through efficiency. This month of Virgo, through September 22, is excellent for planning and attaining definite tangible progress.

Contemplation of natural beauty around you could be wonderful, and would not interfere with ambitions but sustain them through appropriate rest and restored confidence. 

The symbol "First dancing instruction" implies that one ought to be ready to learn something new, or a trial-and-error modification of the old. There are those, visible or invisible, who are assisting you. Also, you might assist someone else in "first dancing."

One of the day's symbols suggests hard work in some area of research, study, or careful perception and experimentation. Another suggests almost the opposite, "A merry-go-round," or diversions which keep one pleased. That fits in with the wonderful trine of the Venus-Mars conjunction to Uranus, freedom in love-seeking or love-finding. Yet one must remember the "karmic third" when people feel dutiful and a little heavy. So we may refuse to let pleasure-seeking interfere with inventive effort, or only later in the day.

Superficial pursuits could lead to waste. The beauties of nature should be placed above those of artificiality. Human bodies are part of nature, but people are likely to shrink from lasciviousness. "Right thinking and well-directed endeavors" need not be boring, because it is clear that they are productive. 

"A harem" is a strange symbol, but you may sense what it means. Dr. Jones interprets it from the woman's angle, as restraint within a confined situation, but shows that this need not hamper individual aspiration and preparation for something better. With it is, appropriately, Signor Borelli's 'A man and woman standing with their backs to one another." This could be reserve and bashfulness, though with sincere affections; a generous disposition, but sensitive, delicate, and modest. What this means for friendship is for you to find out, but it could be something beneficent in the long term. Meanwhile the working part of the day is good for gainful progress.

A square patch of grass is covered by a red cloth as if for a picnic. Children are playing around it, a black girl and two white boys. "I won't sit on that, I'd rather feel the grass on my butt" says the girl. 

There are plenty of luxurious delicacies being readied by the affluent adults, who seem more absorbed in that than in the beauty of the park and glorious approaching sunset. 

More folks arrive, convivial and dressed in colorful attire. Among them is a man whose eyes keep darting toward the children. A mother notices and thinks, "Wolf after lamb." The man thinks, "I can't help it. If I were alone with them . . ." 

One of the boys has brought a telescope and is busy assembling it. Meanwhile across the way in an adjoining property a farmer is tending to his fields, corn and wheat. There is now another group of children, this time two colored girls and one white boy. All six are drawn to investigate the fields. 

The farmer welcomes them and chats with them about his crops.  He is right-thinking, competent and peaceful. The "wolf" man comes along. The farmer intuitively gives him a piercing glance. 

The kids notice that astro-boy has successfully set up his telescope and one says, "The moon is already up, let's go look." "You can't eat the moon or the stars," says the farmer. They laugh and are off. 

The youthful astronomer says, "I see not only the stars but other things, with my clairvoyant vision." "Prove it," says one of the boys. "Wolf man" walks away.

The elephant with the castle on his back hears the whining of a dog who is cringing as if he had been abused. He desires to comfort the poor creature. Then he finds that its owner is also whining and cringing, not because of direct abuse but imagined injustices, lamenting because he cannot "get it together." He is self-centered, morose, and lazy. Everyone is at fault but himself. The elephant passes on to see a sage in the light of an open window, sitting by his lamp. The elephant trumpets and the sage replies that he is busy solving immense problems of the universe and human life. The elephant remarks, "I see that you are a grand magician." Two angels appear above the sage's window and gaze at the elephant, who requests that they aid and comfort the poor whining dog. They do what they can and the canine seems at peace while his owner sleeps fitfully. The groundhog appears, looking for its shadow in the lamplight from the sage's window. The elephant shakes his head, but the sage calls down, "Keep seeking and thou shalt find." The groundhog comes upon a solitary rock jutting up from sand, and upon it sits a man calculating his prospects shrewdly, feeling that he can at least cope with his poverty, while dismissing G*d, who has apparently never helped him, as a silly superstition. The sage's "Seek" means to him nothing but to continue with gravity and cold mathematical cunning. He pulls from his pocket an unsealed letter to peruse once more. His heart does not comprehend the sentiments it expresses. The angels looking down try to awaken compassionate feelings in him so that he will not reject callously this opportunity to meet again with one who loved him.

Moon in Taurus

Two angels are bringing protection, accompanied by an elephant. The latter has great sagacity and carries his castle on his back. A student has a blank sheet of paper before him, and a ruler, T square, compass and pens, but he sits dreaming of a marriage he hopes for. The elephant says he ought to concentrate on his mathematical work. Instead he draws two circles with a gold pen, and ties them together in a double bow with his blue pen. One of the angels is pondering whether or not to bless this possibly upcoming union. The other is sure that the man needs to focus his thoughts on his work. A groundhog appears and says "Where did my shadow go?" The elephant laughs kindly. An enlivening sound of merriment comes through the window. The villagers are assembling outside in the square. Each is wearing a costume connected with his or her group or nation, and there are tables set up for international dishes. The student leaves his table, pens and paper and joins the convivial crowd, hailing a friend. The elephant ambles into the square and sets down his castle with his trunk. It expands to make room for his personal bulk; he disappears into it with no interest in the festivities. The student thinks he sees his beloved coming down the block, only to be disappointed when she gets nearer and is a stranger. The angels throw up their hands, or wings, and decide to leave the scene. The student is shown a photo of himself taken by his friend. He ponders his own demeanor and profile. "Not bad. I have some character. Better get back to my work. Maybe my girlfriend will call."

There has been unease, but a sense that things are about to enter a more promising era. You have been "peeping around the corner" at people who have somehow been in your way. This sort of surveillance is bringing results. You feel that your fearlessness is a corrective for maladjustments in individuals and society. 

Someone may regret a project which worked, or seemed to, for a while but now does not. Redirection then is needed.   

On the worrisome side there have been indiscretions, symbolized by "an unsealed letter," which have brought unease, and yet whining about them does no good. One could use some unfairness as an excuse for indigence. Actually one is learning to be less suspicious, as people "read each other's mail" in the sense of being willing to encompass one another's peculiarities with good will. 

If there is a question where to go, or else to remain at home or headquarters, probably the latter is better. You do not have to go far for sustaining cordiality. "Two hands linked in a close grip of friendship" denote amiability and "little greatnesses" which make you and others beloved. This could increase into the night hours.

One might feel like a strategist, even a spy. One has to observe people from varied angles to know what to expect. This could be in the service of some glorified ideal you hold, "A large white cross upraised." Conscious stewardship brings a satisfying sense of spiritual belonging. 

"A dagger" shows that some conflict has to be resolved, let's hope without violence or quarrelsomeness. Some might be accused of hurtfulness when they are just trying to get things done. For whatever it's worth, Charubel says one ought to avoid low places, such as cellars or basements. 

Someone who thinks she or he has a mission may not realize when the peak of it has passed and it would be wise to turn to something else. 

The |difficult third| tends to depress moods, and yet Venus is joining with Mars and both are trine Uranus. This is a sense of freedom in love, plus a pure, eager response to the creative needs of someone, like "a mermaid." At best there will be kindness and benevolence among sincere friends. There could be good fortune within marriage or some other union: "Two golden circles joined by a blue ribbon tied in a double bow."

There is emphasis on character, on "being a real man or real woman." The devious or criminal tendencies of others which one might observe in the news, or even up close, are predatory and unworthy of the human estate. And so one can note them and determine to be "better than that."

A tendency toward labor is good, toward being something worthy. This is firmness and steadfastness. Even city dwellers may think of this as "farming" in the sense of bringing growing opportunities to their full development. There is a possibility of financial gain, even becoming wealthy through ordinary things which many would scorn. 

Penetrating toward success, as an arrow, is good as long as one maintains one's direction.

Whatever is destructive is unworthy of the human estate. "A dagger" is an ominous sign but can mean rather that one counteracts the anger and frustration which in some build up to rage or violence. At best this means a capacity to be executive in some capacity of law or governance or community organizing which eliminates or contains the angers which gnaw at some. 

Getting past that, there is "Daybreak" or the genesis of new, immediate potentials---a resurgence of fresh assurances which recapture life's promise.

~Magical Potentials~

It is not necessary to be suspicious of everyone. People do things often unconsciously, and this could be true especially after the void-of-course period begins (time above). But they generally mean no harm. You could trust them with some of your profound secrets if that might help. "An old sage" who is "a true magician" could be you or someone whose judgment is solid and whose will is gigantic.

You have fine tastes and indulge in luxuries. Is this too much? Possibly. Venus moving to join Mars in Leo can indicate sexual passions, which could go toward reversal and suffering. One needs one's inborn stability.

Looking at the sky could be helpful. If the stars are visible they might give messages. Clairvoyant insight can be stimulated by anything.

"A man plowing in a field sees a rainbow." You have close researches or labors to carry out and do not resent doing them, yet beyond them shines a prism of glorious significance inspiring you to carry on. By evening the rainbow seems more important than the plowing.

A rustic country life is good. Meditate on a white farmhouse. It is entered by a gate. 

"An unsealed letter" is the opposite of keeping secrets. Paranoia about privacy in the digital age is overdone. You can be loose and free with some things dear to your heart and not fear criticism or reprisal. People are discreet.

Interest in astrology could be strong. There is intellectual stimulus with Mercury square Uranus. One sees things in fresh ways and can make discoveries.

There could be rugged contentment in simple work.

One danger could be instability, deriving from assent to passions surging up and misleading one. Experiment is good, and so is pulling back when the experiment is finished, or before it goes too far.

To be adequate to everything one has to be like "a large camel crossing the desert." True, much of the desert---the Dark Hermetic Epoch---is behind us, until October 11. Still, an unhurried approach is consistent with Friday plus the moon in Pisces close to Neptune.  When aware of "more than meets the eye" one does not have to grasp at anything. There is a gate to that white farmhouse in the mountains.

A new Bright Hermetic Epoch, or Quick Epoch, or More Easily Progressive Epoch, began Wednesday at 11:47p PT, Thursday at 2:57a PT or at 6:57a Thursday Universal Time.  (This is accurate within about ten minutes in either direction.) It lasts until October 11.

If you look over the past two months, since June 20, you will find how things get "wrapped up" though in convoluted ways. The Mueller investigation has "wrapped up" although some want to prolong investigation and re-investigation of its findings. The Epstein affair has been "wrapped up" to a large degree although there will be lawsuits galore continuing. Not all news is negative during these times but a lot of it is retrospective, re-treading, rethinking, and so on. Kamala Harris has gone down in the polls, as has Beto O'Rourke (both Libra by sun-sign). The sad situation in Hong Kong continues to develop and we hope it can go in better directions now. That is only a beginning. As of this very moment as I write, the S&P 500 Index has gone down by 2.84 per cent since closing on June 19 (figures courtesy of the Wall Street Journal). (I hasten to add, one cannot depend on its going down during every DHE, though I believe there is a statistical tendency in that direction. If one were to pull back one's investments during the next DHE one might find the Market going perversely up.) 

We learn things during these times, how to correct ourselves or our direction. I realized that I was going in some dangerous directions and had to face myself, pray, and resolve to do better. Perhaps the same has been true for you in some areas of your life.

Thursday: The aura of the Full Moon remains with us, and there are wonderful symbols for the planetary positions. There is purity and fresh, free consciousness of potentials, indicated by "A mermaid." On a more rational side one might benefit by mathematics in some way. Concord and union are symbolized by "Two golden circles joined by a blue ribbon tied in a double bow." There are sincere friends aiding one to live two lives in one. Idealism leads to good fortune. 

Two symbols for the sun's position are remarkable in connection with Sri Aurobindo, whose birthday is today and who therefore has these symbols for the position of Sol in his birth-chart. Charubel: "A large undershot water-wheel. Denotes one who will prove a leading character in some great movement, or he may be the founder of some society, or school of philosophy." Sri Aurobindo founded his Ashram and his Integral Yoga after, in his youth, being a leader in the Indian independence movement. His "school of philosophy" transcends what is usually called philosophy in Western terms but is the most advanced school of Indian thought anywhere on the planet, I can assure you. 

From Signor Borelli and Sepharial, the same degree (the sun's position today and in Sri Aurobindo's chart): "A bright pale blue star shining over a clear lake. . . . One of a quick, refined, and well-trained intelligence, who will gain distinction by mental powers. The nature will be peaceful, harmonious, and beneficent. The mind is highly intuitive, and capable of lofty and sustained flights. Withal there is a good knowledge of character and a quiet but potent reserve of diplomatic power. The native will shine like a star in his sphere of life, and will have many followers. It is a degree of Intelligence." Every word of this is exactly true of Sri Aurobindo, and it was written in the 1890s when Sri Aurobindo was in his twenties and I'm sure unknown to the writers. 

What that symbol may mean to you today is for you to determine.

Finally there are indications of "Imperturbability" or a determination to abide by your own inner self rather than trying too hard to please anyone through your appearance to them. This would fit the third symbol for the sun (today and in Sri Aurobindo's chart), "A bareback rider." This is amusing in connection with Sri Aurobindo because when he was graduating from Cambridge, his family wanted him to apply for the Indian Civil Service (run by the English of course at that time). He did not want to do that but also did not want to disappoint his family. So he deliberately failed to arrive for the horse-riding examination he would have had to pass, on two occasions. This "bareback rider" did not want to participate in the "saddling" of his nation, India, by the colonialists! Fascinating. Decades later, India's birthday upon liberation from the British became August 15, the same as Sri Aurobindo's. 

To the true in heart, life can be simple.

This is the Full Moon night; it will be exact early Thursday at 5:30a PT | 8:30a ET | 12:30p UT

Mars has good aspects and is at degrees symbolizing "descending into a pit" but also "hands clasped in a close grip of friendship." A male who is important to you could encourage you to know your "true place"--not a pit but something close to where you already are, as if you decided against travel of some kind. People want to feel they have friends who are allies. There are ramifying potentials everywhere.

There is something about aromatics or sweet odors, whether put together by humans from nature's resources or directly in nature. Smelling flowers is aromatherapy and no one should be ashamed of it! Healing is taking place at the hands of someone who wants to end suffering.

This is the last day of a Dark, Slow or Meandering Hermetic Epoch, so you can blame Mercury or its motions, or the whole Solar System, for whatever confusion you have felt during the past two months. "The groundhog looking for its shadow" is "us." Human beings are the "manomaya purusha" or "mental being" in Hindu thought. Therefore the motions and cycles of Mercury are extremely important to us. Tomorrow's Full Moon should illumine our way for the start of the next two months (until the next Dark Epoch beginning October 11). 

Young people have issues and could be driven in wrong directions by "chicken hawks" or those who mislead youths of either sex into bad choices. It is well to communicate with them, and all, through normal conversations emphasizing good sense and optimism.

As you must have noticed, the world has been going crazy, as is usual during a Dark or Confusing Hermetic Epoch (June 20-August 14). It's as if every aspect which ordinarily humans can handle without freaking out (such as Venus square Uranus, Venus quincunx Saturn, Mars quincunx Saturn, and on and on this time) cause some to "freak out" even to the point of violence or, at worst, killing someone else or themselves. The Epstein mess was one example; and his suicide, if such it was, was facilitated by a typical Dark or Slow Epoch situation, the prison guards overworked and weary and doing overtime, so that they did not monitor him as they should have. Now there is the serious situation in Hong Kong versus China, with demonstrators closing down airports and violence threatened or happening. Very sad and we ought to pray for the persecuted Hong Kong people, hoping and expecting some salvation for them. 

Ultimately, the plight of Hong Kong is much more serious than whatever now happens in the Epstein case. But since the media and the populace are fixating on the latter, let me add this:  It is almost humorous, or demonically appropriate, that the day of the Epstein suicide (or homicide) both Venus and the sun were in Leo exactly (within two degrees) quinxunx Saturn in Capricorn, Epstein's sun-sign. It is also, thematically, the sign of "people in power" while Leo is the sign of "young people" and we see that the "people in power" (Saturn in Capricorn) are threatened to the quick by "young people" (sun and Venus in Leo, the girls or young women Epstein used or abused). Since Pluto is also in Capricorn, conjunct Saturn, we can see that it is also "plutocrats" threatened by young women. Quite remarkable, and the quincunx is an "anuretic" aspect sometimes, or death-dealing. Enough about the unsavory, vicious and horrid for today at least.

(Of course these aspects have a higher side. One stab at that: Many, perhaps yourself, were contemplating issues of power as connected with sexuality, who is using whom in sex interplay or seduction, and so on. This could have been healthy, leading to a resolve to be more conscious and ethical about such matters.)

Tuesday:  There is much strength of perception. You can see into people, their motives and intentions, and feel that you could command them with a wave of the hand.

Those who do "matutinal devotions"--daily prayers or Scriptural study--are favored by Heaven.

The beautiful and the good are everywhere, within multitudinous ramifying manifestations, and we can delight in them.

The sense of uncertainty, "the groundhog looking for its shadow," of the Dark Hermetic Epoch, is gradually decreasing and technically ends by Thursday. 

Keen understanding of the laws of life, plus a sympathetic nature, make it possible to use intuition, foresight and diplomacy to benefit from what happens, and direct people, their responses and actions.

"Chickens intoxicated" does not have to mean literal intoxication or stupefaction but can be exhilaration from a stimulating environment, and people who turn on your interests and energies.
