Moon in Aries
We approach a New Moon in Friday's "wee" hours. Much seems favorable for better plans emerging.
However (I don't like "howevers" any more than you) there seems a "black pall" of doubt or frustration hanging over us. At best this could be nothing more than too much worry. The sun's square with Saturn, increasing by the day, always makes us critical of ourselves (or others).
Maybe at the wrong time of year, "Holly and mistletoe" suggest the happier side of things, a pleasure in ritualizing human interaction and the happiness it brings.
The desire for escape could lead to excess in partaking of one's favorite mood-altering substance. Yet a more mental or spiritual intoxication, within sanity's limits, could be progressive.
One of the hardest things to face is treachery, or facing the fact that someone or some institution or corporation or government agency has acted contrary to one's own best interests. Paranoia does not help, nor does anger to the point of fury or subtle impairment of health. It would help to take a balanced view, realistic yet hopeful for some correction of the situation.
"Men seeking illumination" are dedicated to a tradition or regimen which guides them and hopefully spiritualizes their motives and aspirations. One might sense hypocrisy in this, yet an honest attempt to get ethical or spiritual guidance is blessed by the gods.
Impatience (sun and moon in Aries which happens once a year) is not bad if it results in bold successful action, like "A wild horse leaping a barrier." Previous paragraphs suggest that this might be dangerous, but at best it could be emphatic assertion of one's rights and privileges.
