Some are inclined to rely more on religion, or their particular rites or rituals, than on their own efforts. This is not wrong, provided that when the voice of their G*d in fact answers them, they hear its admonition, which might be impelling them toward action as well as prayer and worship. Some things need to be done sooner rather than later. The answering Voice can point that out.
Charitable deeds are good. Those on the Right think they ought to be performed by the well-off for the less-well-off, voluntarily. Those on the Left think that the wealthy ought to be compelled to grant benefits to those less well-favored by the economic setup. Let us hope that this election will make for some intelligent compromise or middle path between these two attitudes so that we can cease screaming at one another for a while. True, people can turn their deficiencies into assets by mobilizing their powers (the Right viewpoint), but they may benefit greatly by gracious collective support in their endeavor to fulfill their uniqueness (the Left viewpoint) and thereby benefit those who have benefited them. (How's that for a one-paragraph political philosophy?)
You may need to calm down and do some of your necessary routines peacefully, not struggling but enduring what cannot be avoided. We are all servants in one way or another, as others serve us. But there are brightening influences which assure us that our world is not inimical but is responding to our desires in a way to further our fulfillment.
Some may be in a joking mood, pretending to shock with broad humor which might seem inept, or might awaken buoyant energies in those it touches. We could be like "children playing around five mounds of sand," willingly naive and spontaneous for a while.
