It's time to discuss the coming Dark Hermetic Epoch. It begins on Monday July 24, after two months (since May 21) of a Bright Hermetic Epoch. If you are new to these terms, you will learn about them as we go along. Most of you have seen the value and significance of these alternating two-month periods, according to the correspondence I receive. I am happy about that, because I consider this one of the most solid and useful timing devices in astrology, and it is known to so few. As a matter of fact, I, Cosmic Piper, am the one who discovered it and so far no other astrologer known to me is calculating it as I do or using the name. I discovered it in the 1970s, though I did not use this name for it. I saw that the Mercury Retrograde period's effects continue after it and begin before it, each time, so that the three-week MR period is in fact the center of the 7-to-8 week Dark Hermetic Epoch. The name derives, of course, from the Greek god Hermes, the same as the Roman Mercury.
We will discuss all that as we go along. For now, it might be well to consider what you have attained or achieved, what you have "figured out" in the past two months since May 21. We all have struggles with agendas, regimens, routines, whether related to health, exercise and diet, work, hobbies, social events, and so on. The idea is that we are better able to see what is good in plans and techniques during the Bright Hermetic Epoch, to decide on the best approaches, and so during this final week of a BHE it might be excellent to "consolidate" your ideas, thoughts, plans, hopes, methods, agendas, so that they are in firm place during the more confusing DHE coming up in ten days.
Have you decided to do such-and-such in a certain way? You are probably right. Or if you need to make final perfecting touches on that plan, agenda or method, now could be the perfect time to do it, until Monday the 24th.
Friday: The tendencies to defend themselves, which people feel, derive from experiences in past lives. Some have a mission to defeat long-time foes who are actually foes of humanity. But actually, deeper within, they hope to be peace-makers; wanting to heal discord and strife; abounding in goodness.
You may find that you have identified a new path of realism in your experience. It is based on solid values you have inherited from your past, though not confined to those. You have decided, "That approach wasn't very realistic, but this one is."
Hidden factors, deep within the earth of your consciousness, can be discovered. People want to reinvest the past with new living, as through "a meeting of a literary society," in other words, reviving the written records of the past into living and unfolding vivification. The reality of this is intensified through storm-like happenings which release deep feelings.
"Gypsies seated around a cauldron" suggests a wandering impulse, though restrained by circumstances so that it could be mostly mind-wandering. A desire for easy sensuous pleasures conflicts with a need to keep working. The latter may predominate if one's patient aspirations win out, elevating one to a peak of eminence and ultimate satisfaction.
