\Competence within Caring Universalism/

Moon in Virgo
|Karmically serious or challenging third| of this week continues (until Thursday evening)

What makes these reports hard is that I have to qualify everything. It's the |kamically serious or challenging third| of this week and I have tested and proved this over the years so I know it is real. However, it does not mean things are terrible. So I have to reassure everyone. It gets tiring. Surely you can sense that although things are serious, they are not tragic or horrid. You sense responsibilities, and your conscience is active. This does not make you totally depressed unless you have a very guilty conscience. Karma is not punishment! It is taking up honestly the work or duty one has assumed in this lifetime, consciously or unconsciously. It is life in its more serious aspect."Karmically serious" does not mean we have to suffer punishment; it means we are aware that natural laws are going to make us suffer unless we shape up. So there could be illness, brought on oneself; or upset, or worry, or a sense of being unloved or not knowing how to love (with Venus opposite Saturn in the mix this time). There can also be a quiet, calm facing of these things manfully or womanfully so that one stays on an even keel and makes things better by a patient, trusting, healing attitude. And, of course, work, which is the basic meaning of the Sanskrit "karma."

The splash pattern of the planets at this time means we do not necessarily focus on specific actions in a totally precise, single manner but are spread out in our interests so that everything we do has other things accompanying it in consciousness. We are interested in people, their reactions, their qualities (common natural disposition in technical terms); and that in a very personal style (Mode of Self-Integration in Personal Circumstances). So we care about ourselves as seen by others and others as seen by ourselves, in a big way. This means, of course, looking for love, as we always seem to be doing (listen to any popular songs at all). Or giving up on love, which is another way of learning how to love more deeply, even if not conceived that way. There is freedom and lightness in this, at certain moments; at other times a deeper more profound emphasis on the Eternal or on trying to comprehend what our own G*d-concept really is, and live it.

Wednesday: I keep saying that many are enjoying prosperity. Even if that doesn't seem true in one hour or another, I think you may agree that opportunities are present abundantly for you. Some quiet or calm work, in a uniform manner, could be what you need. You enhance things by attention to little details, trimming them as it were so that they are more efficient.

There is a sometimes frustrated desire for popularity. We want to be the center of attention, "a man climbing a maypole." Go for it! And don't be upset if you fall off the pole and have to brush off the seat of your pants. One should not be bullheaded when there is danger, but one cannot avoid all risks either. We endure as we check ourselves in time to avoid accidents. Aplomb accompanies competency.

There could be a tendency to run off in any direction just for the sake of running, or for heedless unknown adventure. However, there is much subtly high intelligence, which can be cunning, an ability to compete, to better rivals and gain advantage. Withal there is a studious or philosophic trend, "an old book lying open upon a table, a burning lamp beside it." It is amazing how choosing one basic text of living (the four Gospels, the Psalms, as examples, which help me enormously, or your own favorite guru or guide) can act as constant counsel and support. It seems to me that we all need that, and if Bible-reading has gone out of fashion, something similar ought to replace it. What is the book which offers you the most consistent spiritual help, comfort, upliftment? You could turn to it and derive great benefit.

{Wednesday}  \Competence within Caring Universalism/

P. S. WordWeb says that "Universalism" is a theological doctrine that all shall be saved. I guess Google wants me to use "Universality" instead, but "Universalism" has a ring to it that I prefer.

P. P. S. I sometimes wonder if my labors in writing these reports are worth the time. I wonder if I am even saying anything that fits the day. Today (Tuesday as I write) I felt that, re-read my report for the day, and was still not happy. But then in the evening I re-re-read, it, and it seemed to be "spot on" on every point. In other words, if you find the reports peculiar, or seemingly "off," when read in the morning or afternoon, please read them again at night. You may be surprised how much light they throw on the day and how accurate they really were.
