In the aftermath of the Full Moon we have heightened consciousness. Mercury's retrograde motion has been evident, but in a smooth way--some backtracking, some lateness, some "out of pattern" timing and incidents, but happy ones for the most part. That is because when Mercury changes direction, his aspects then are highly significant, and they are good ones this time--a trine to Saturn and sextile to Neptune within normal orbs. So we seem to be drifting into fairly wise or peaceful connections. On Monday I unexpectedly met two individuals who spent hours chatting with me about fascinating topics and our past living--when Mercury is retrograde it is fun to review our lives and think about the past and what it has meant to us. The social pleasure was a reflection of Mars's sextile with Venus, which is good not only for real romantic love but for casual associations and friendships. People sense the best in one another and relate to that rather than to what is less appealing.
All of the just-mentioned phenomena continue today, though with some confusion or out-of-pattern surprises because of the Via Combusta and void-of-course. The Venus-square-Saturn blues seem to be less than usual because of the increasing Mars-Venus sextile. We find ways to escape boredom.
Mars trine Pluto in earth signs is good for employment prospects or business gains, and for discussing those in connection with probably male individuals. Because Venus is retrograde, women may be less directly involved in the changes but still playing their important roles. Males feel good about scoring victories in the business-financial realm.
The large focus on Pluto is interesting. He is at point focus in a T square and has been for a very long time and shall be for months to come (Jupiter on one side and Uranus on the other, accentuated now by the sun also). At worst this is business scams and scandals--witness the Wells Fargo shakeup, for example, and the endless questions about Trump finances. At a happier level it is the fascination of sharing stories and feelings about jobs, business or possible gains, as I was doing with some new friends Monday. One of the symbols for 19 Capricorn 20 (where Pluto sits) is amusing: "An ape seated before a mirror." What this meant on Monday was that I shared with these strangers a lot of personal stories, opinions and feelings about the past, so that we were in fact mirroring one another in fascinating ways which went on and on. Apes? Okay. We had fun.
We cannot expect absolutely clear and sharp outlines of the immediate future while Mercury remains retrograde (till May 3rd), yet happily another symbol for the same degree is: "A person ascending a spiral staircase in a dark enclosure, with sunshine at the top." This means that after a lot of circling around one comes out on top in the sunshine, eventually; and I hope that is working out for you one step at a time while Mars and Venus are getting friendlier with each other and while the sun plus Uranus conjoined in Aries open fresh prospects.
