}Adept Gentility{
Adaptable and suave, she is favored by Fortune,
Even by those shallow, changing as a river's
Momentum. Without effort, celestial gifts are showered
Upon her, rains of pearls. She tames both the eagle
And the dove. Keen feelings in hollow eyes threaten
Her peace, that withhold kindness and threaten disaster.
But she turns to the children in her charge, who talk
Together of what they have learned, unconsciously, from
Her. They show her that she need not fear the final days
Of other lives. A neighbor of another race nurses a baby
Whose message to the world is yet unknown. He might
Become a monk with flowing hair, or calm the tides of
Hate when war and peace totter against each other in the
Minds and lives of those who need to be adept in facing
What unfaced would mean disaster. The suave young lady
Takes in these scenarios, lets children be and grow,
While gazing toward a bright horizon's comfort.
