*Through Stress to Harmonious Calm*
The Dark Hermetic Epoch, and especially the Mercury Retrograde cycle which is at the center of it, is a time for much review and re-vision or re-envisionment. You may find this going on in several areas of your life. It is usually better to stay the course, outwardly at least. Those who drop a partner or job or home at these times often come to regret it. Yet one is capable of seeing a lot of things very clearly. If your "dark" vision--dark because in the Dark Epoch we see with a sort of night-time vision, through dreams and meditations, darkly though perhaps clearly--points out changes you could make in your life, you do not have to reject what you have seen, but be slow and cautious in putting any new plan into effect. You may not see it at all the same way after Mercury turns direct on February 28 or when the next Bright Epoch begins on March 20. Or, even if it remains valid, you will find that further factors you had not known about will turn up to make your choices much clearer and more progressive.
In the Northwest we had our spell of very wintry weather a few days ago (with snow rare for here) when the square of the sun with Saturn was exact. I see that in the South and East wintry blasts are coming now, while that square is still very close, within 3 degrees today.
Talents, music, and persuasive words are prevalent. Conventional good-looking individuals may get your attention as they attend to their conventional pursuits and entertainments. Many will be experiencing good fortune with little effort.
Reflecting on one's position and one's hopes and intentions from a high level is possible (Mercury retrograde approaching its conjunction with the sun). Some of this seems detached from daily living, as if you were seeing things from some "other" viewpoint than your usual one. The hardness of life, the seeming cruelty of it at times, may enter your consciousness in an unwelcome way (as did, for example, the ridiculous "conviction" of Amanda Knox in Italy).
When we recover from that, we may sense that life can be a pageant, a demonstration of goodness and satisfaction for all (moon in Leo approaching fullness). There needs to be self-preservation, in one area or many, in a calm way which makes it easy and stress-free.
Fretting and mourning are possible, yet it seems that awareness of one's implicit strength triumphs over worry. Gloom is a backdrop to something more melodic and harmonious. The magic of sound through music or words is persuasive, releasing energy and joy. We look on some phases of our lives as if from a distance and yet enjoy immediate events when we feel competent and confident.
