Yesterday was a terrible day for a romantic holiday! Saint Valentine was offering lovers only rebukes and suffering--he knew they needed to pull back and get a better perspective on their relationships and drop the pseudo-romantic nonsense. How many dollars were wasted on candy and treats and dinners no one enjoyed! 

Today is much better for all that--today would be a much more believable Valentine's Day this year according to Cosmic Piper, so if you were disappointed on Friday, you could try to make up for it today.

Where is the frankness, the childlike truth of things?
Instead, prating arrogance and violent thuggery.

But this can be transcended, in pioneer effort,

Staking out a home in a wilderness tamed. 

Someone admired holds up a standard of truth and

Decency. An airplane hovering above sees what

Earthlings miss, a way to stop the stupid cruelty.

The future is experiment, devised in craft or 

Crafted spontaneity, diplomacy and force winning the battle

Enjoyed only when close to winning. Those who mourn

Are cheered by pursuing fortune with a pack of cards

Or dice, and cups and bottles besides. There is time to

Look on all from above, reflect on what is missing,

And get it into the scene, repelling fireceness, rage

And stark impatience. Contention is discord only

At first; can be lifted to something comradely

In this world or the next. Time to begin.
