\An Adventurous Context of Fulfillment/

You might choose one of the following Paths, or combine features from two or three of them, according to what makes sense and fits your situation:

Path III
You are restless and aspiring, full of enthusiasm for the New Year. You assume that there is sufficient stability behind you to support you as you pursue the almost-impossible. Your ambitions are uplifting and include travel partly for adventure more than merely mundane purposes. Yet you are not sure where that travel would lead. Danger is involved, for you feel sure of yourself and so could precipitate quarrels. You could be rash, so that others perceive you as warlike even when you are not. If you were to have a taste for disputes and strife, stirring them up intentionally or semi-intentionally, things could get very bad indeed. It is true that people are confused, but making more turmoil would make them more confused, and dangerous. Then you might wonder why people are not liking you or seem against you. That makes you bitter. You have loved, but none has returned your love. You start out childlike and trusting, but reason does not support your trust in some, and then you feel betrayed. Let not such happenings eat into you making you bitter. You can rise beyond such misery on the wings of fresh aspiration. There will always be some who believe in and support your spirit of adventure and high hope.

Path II
Who has the compass and the map? Who will show you the way from loss to profit, from indifference to love? You have the compass and you have the map. You don't look at them.

But you might look at them in time. Your intuition, formless in itself, is a formless compass needle pointing in the right way, at least some of the time, and it could lead to good luck Wednesday or Thursday.

You have more than you think you have. And what you have is confirmed, developed and enhanced through discipline as much as through liberty. You also enjoy disciplining and helping to fulfill the desires of others.

The ornamental and beautiful turn up around you. That means your compass needle is pointing to love or friendship. Someone with an Eastern, Arabic, or Mid-eastern appearance may be in the environment where something good for you happens. There is more bonhomie and potential benefit than meets the eye.

The beautiful feeds things into a hopper where you select from the pure and the impure, and you feel secure that you have chosen well. Practical businessmen keep good records and ledgers. You want to do the same for your success, and some of it you do in secret. Why should anyone else see these things, this personal information and planning? Yet you wouldn't mind sharing it with someone at a distance who believes in you.

It's interesting to consider scientific matters connected with the earth (old issues of National Geographic?). You might keep one glance on the ground (the other on the sky) and notice what you see there, rocks and soil and formations. People may not see eye to eye about much, yet they have to concur about the solid earth they stand on.

Path I
There has been a lot of sharing over the holidays, of food and drink, a fraternal or sororal atmosphere. This can continue in a naive manner, perhaps animalistic at times. People want adventure in simple ways, like brothers of a fraternity. This can be playful or playfully erotic part of the time. At times it rubs the wrong way and has to be corrected.

Organizing things socially and materially in a social-business-economic setting is always hard at first, because people have to agree whether they like it or not. (Any Senators or Congressmen reading this? The President likewise would do well to consider it.) Circumstances force some agreement, such as the layout of streets. Then this order is a reliable basis for personal activities. Then an individual (such as yourself) is free to create his own magic on this basis. We say we are free. Yet we do not ask that we be allowed as individuals to control the stoplights or change the tax laws. The ordered is a basis on which freedom can manifest. This is happening now in your personal, very individual domain. It is magic if you are a magician.

The protests you make about what you have to face and deal with are a natural part of the social order working out. You have seen how some things have been unjust in your life. You have faced injustice. Haven't we all? Perhaps it makes us better by challenging our character, patience, and persistence. But also our protests against it, in nonviolent form, have been good for us, aiding us to adjust the social situation to our own as well as ours to it. You may be seeing how this is setting you up for gradual success in areas where before things seemed bleak.

People who have entered new places to try new things are thrilled by the adventure. The unsettling is the stimulating. You are experiencing this, yet the "new" does not seem so forbidding any more. It is becoming comfortable. You feel at home in it because you have assimilated its main features for secure orientation. New town, new home, new job, new mate or friend, new procedures: they show you who you are and how to be within multiple contexts, and you grow master of what before had mastered your anxieties. So you are re-forming your world with confidence in a context which, no matter how challenging, is feeling to be the very context your soul needs for fulfillment.
