Maybe you have a bone to pick with me. I never hear from anyone when they disagree, only when they agree. I said in the previous forecast, "you can organize time and projects without worry over interruptions, sidetracks or confusion. Timing is easier." Well, that was not true for me. I had numerous interruptions, sidetracks, and temporary confusions. The good news is that they all got straightened out by the middle of the period or a little later. In afterview they were not terrible but at the time they were annoying and appeared to be time-wasting. I would suspect you have been going through some of the same. There are a few lessons to be learned, in terms of astrology (and I hope those of you who don't care for technical astrology will nevertheless pick up clues and perspective from what is said here):

1. Although we are in the Bright Hermetic Epoch, there are other factors. One of the most prominent is the position and aspects of Jupiter, which is now in "high focus" according to the incomparable methods of Marc Edmund Jones and so dominates the skies. (Parenthetically, it is also closer to the earth than it will be until 2021, which I learned from my astrological friend Shawn Collins.) Jupiter is a good planet, in fact the best according to the ancients. But it is both retrograde and in a sign of its detriment (Gemini). It is also the focus of a powerful Yod configuration, quincunx Saturn on one side and Pluto on the other. Another astrological friend makes a great deal of this as an unfortunate indication. I rather think that it is "the unfortunate-working-out-toward-the fortunate" which is what the quincunx and Yod seem to indicate. A karmic process. Since Jupiter is in Gemini and retrograde, it involves backtracking in terms of papers, information, accounts, details of accounting or other information, copying, making copies of things, writing, communicating, and of course Christmas cards for those who do them. So none of this has been easy, and there has been backtracking, and needless duplication (Gemini is "the twins" and a "dual sign"). I had to walk twice to my bank yesterday to work out some complicated stuff involving a notarized statement. That was a perfect example. I had to write a letter twice or actually three times, and put the letter on the same page as the notarized statement, which I had to duplicate from a form. This involved so much "copying" and duplication of effort that it was not funny. I ended up seeing not one notary but two. The "twins" (working in the same bank). Hours of my time. I hope you did not have to go through something like that, but in some area of your life you probably did. Another example: this morning I ordered a book from A Libris, and somehow because of confusing information on their pages ordered two copies instead of one. I am not going to waste hours of my life trying to correct this but will just have two copies. Perhaps there is a good "final cause" reason for that--I intend to give one away and perhaps the other will come in handy. "The twins" again, even in terms of a Christmas gift. (Maybe you should give socks or mittens or something else which comes in pairs?)

2. Yet, I say, this is not as bad as it would be if we were in a Dark Hermetic Epoch. We are in a bright one until February 8. And so by the end of the day I did feel better about the process I am going through, as if it were all under control at least.

3. I encourage you to re-read these reports in the middle of the period for which they are intended. I think most of you read them early, or in the previous period, and you may not sense or understand what they are referring to until much later. You may think I was "off" but if you re-read the forecast toward middle or end of the period, you may see what I was driving at and get much more help from it.

The current period covering Thursday, Friday and early Saturday has potentials of profound discovery and enlightenment. Many things are going very well. You are content with your home and perhaps your family situation. Whatever attention you give to that will be well-rewarded. The only negative note is an intensification of things, perhaps because of holiday preparations, but this, although upsetting to aplomb, is just something to keep you alert and active. "Stay awake," Jesus said to his disciples. At the ordinary level this means not postponing what you need to do. At the spiritual level it means remembering the Supreme and your mission in relation to Him and Her. When these two seem to conflict, moments of rest and meditation can restore perspective so you know what to do and not to do.

Archeology or mining may come into your consciousness, something connected with the deep earth. It could be real estate. What is your foundation, and how are you discovering more about it? Maybe old family homes arise in your memory.

The desire to push ahead toward discovery, in whatever area of your life that is important, is intense. It could lead to impatience and anger when you feel something or someone is frustrating that personal, very individual search.

Astronomy or astrology may get your attention in a big way, for you are desiring to see and grasp the contexts of everything. A cold winter's night is not a bad time to gaze at the stars. As for planets, Venus is the early-morning star in the East, and Mars should be visible in the West up to two hours after sunset. These two remain in a mysterious septile aspect, as they have been for a week, suggesting that relations between the sexes (or same-sex relationships) are taking on more significance than you may realize on the surface.

You think, ponder, and puzzle things out. The complexities seem not so much baffling as intriguing, and you feel confident that with time and patience you can find answers.

Others also are persevering in their quests for edification. The human race seems to understand that the darkest nights of the year provide an avenue for inner enlightenment. The outer ceremonies and rituals of colored lights are a symbol of that. You might find yourself joining, in consciousness or fellowship, with others in loyalty to high ideals.

This seems a wonderful time for holiday moods and parties, get-togethers, and freedom to relax contentedly with anyone close to you (even strangers). The intensity and individuality of the time need not cause flare-ups but add spice and interest. Self-control seems hard at first; wonderful thereafter.

People are feeling that the year has not been bad. They feel more secure and established in dominion over their lives. Therefore they meet any intensified temporary storm or crisis with knowledge, power, and dignified self-reliance. That means those around you and yourself. And so what is there to fear? If the Mayan calendar means anything, it means we are coming together as a human race to meet the unguaranteed future more sanely and cooperatively.
