My threat to be more hard-nosed and less optimistic is melting a little. At least now we have Venus decisively moved away from her conjunction with Saturn. I am amazed how many astrologers do not realize the seriousness of this aspect. It is one of the very worst--that is, the square, opposition or conjunction of Venus with Saturn, and it does indeed take a full ten-degree orb. I saw in the Wall Street Journal that "Congress has been fully occupied with the fiscal cliff problem since November 16" and as reported here more than once, that aspect began November 18 (and ended at the end of December 4 just before this period begins). Now, with a Bright Hermetic Epoch beginning December 14, we are ready to see, I believe, meaningful negotiations in Congress and some serious progress toward agreement. But give it another week or two to sort out; a deal needs to be reached by December 18 if legislation is going to be passed before the end of the year.

Venus has so much to do with money, as Marc Edmund Jones and other serious astrologers have pointed out. Everybody knows she has a lot to do with love. With her escape from Saturn, moods should be better. You may have been disappointed by some of my predictions of "social good times" in the past--I repented here of one such mistaken prediction for last Friday--but I am still going to say that Wednesday through Friday this week should be good social days, party days, or times to relax with people or be with someone special or have a good time in some way which pleases you. It is rare that I will give such a grade to three days in a row. The holiday spirit may be upon us. Saturday is more questionable. We will get to that in the next forecast.

Meanwhile for Wednesday and Thursday: There is danger of being too selfish or self-centered. You may ask, How could that be when I have so little and am so worn down by life? It is a hard teaching, that in order to receive we have to prime the pump by giving, but it works out in practice. The "giving" ordinarily is work, but for those unemployed or retired it can be extra-ordinary work or volunteer effort. Let us hope that, in the holiday spirit, it could be joyous. If you try to show people that you really care about them as well as yourself, things should get better quickly.

Yes, you care about yourself. A lot of your worries in connection with work, job,
and income should be clearing up gradually even if there are black, dark corners into which your consiousness slips frequently, from which there seems no escape. There is escape and you are preparing for it. You are getting shrewd at handling what you have and using it wisely. Many would not have the foggiest notion how you do this. It is your own discovery.

There is an active, lively trend. You want to use your powers. This makes you feel strong and on top of things. People will admire you for it. Then you appreciate also their animation and vigor. Exercising, running, playing, working out--alone and then together--is a possibility.

The bleakness of recent weeks may cling to us but is gradually fading. There is much intellectual acumen and useable insight. During these two days you can move toward experiences more interesting, more social than recently, and invigorating.
