The New Moon begins very early today---while you are asleep most likely---so why do you need the exact time? It might be interesting. You could look it up.
And then forget it, because Mercury is retrograde.
Actually, I have gotten quite a few good things done during that period (since August 20). It's a matter of feeling and understanding what it means. I don't know if I have succeeded in conveying that to a single human being in all the years I have been writing about it. People tend to say "Oh yes it has been a terrible time for me" etc. Okay, but that is really missing the point---we need to understand why it seems terrible sometimes, and figure out how to meet it so it is not terrible. That is what I have been trying to work out here for all of us, including myself, and put it in words---I hope some of you at least have been trying to get it.
It is a GOOD time for rehashing things, figuring old things out, understanding "where you came from" and reminiscing or letting your subconscious mind offer up to you its desires, its realizations, its hopes, in ways you would not have expected---your subconscious mind is trying to tell you a lot of things and you could listen and get them rather than fight them. Let's try to do that especially during the next week. Mercury will turn direct on the 12th but that does not end the Dark Hermetic Epoch (lasting through the 26th). Darkness is good. It allows you to rest, sleep, recover, readjust. The night is welcome, because we know it is respite; and the day will return.
It is not necessarily a good time for working things out with other people or organizations. They too are going through their internal processes and so may not be alert to what you are trying to convey to them and will probably misunderstand it. Just as it is not smart to call your doctor, lawyer or boss at 2 in the morning (unless there is a real emergency about which they could really do something) so it is not smart to press external matters of a legal or business nature during the Dark Epoch---unless you absolutely must.
What I said in the last two paragraphs is retroactive, back to the beginning of the Dark Epoch on August 1, and especially since August 20, and could help you to understand what has been "going wrong" during that time. It is not that things must go wrong but that we need to learn how to focus on the things we can do rather than the things we can't do during those particular periods.
It is true also that things can go quite seriously wrong---in my town there has been a fire, that is outside of town in a mountainous region, and 92 homes at least have been destroyed. I just saw TV coverage which was very moving---grown men as well as women moved to tears over the loss of their homes. Of course, similar things have been going on in Pakistan with the horrendous floods there. Those of us more fortunate at this time ought to give thanks to the Supreme One. We might also pray to be worthy of such protection.
Wednesday has its travails in the realm of mysteries to be solved, requiring utmost patience and inquiry. Scientists or theorists or thinkers might get revelations, yet be unsure how accurate, in terms of certainty, such revelations may prove to be in the long term. It is a learning process. If you are studying or researching something you may make slow progress and be willing to labor for good results.
On the emotional level, Venus enters Scorpio today (at 8:46a PT | 11:46a ET | 3:46p UT). Her position in Libra is considered more fortunate but is now ended. However, Mars in Libra is in mutual reception with Venus in Scorpio---that means they rule each other. What this means for sexual politics and marriages and relationships I would be shocked to say. Kidding. But Gore Vidal, who had this combination in his birth-chart, wrote a novel about a woman who was a man or a man who was a woman (I forget which), Myra Breckenridge. It could be interesting. Watch for kinkiness around you.
That is nothing, of course, in comparison with the serious life-changes many are going through under the aegis of the long-lasting oppositions we have discussed several times and shall discuss again.
