}A Little More Christmas{

Merry Christmas! to those in the Eastern nations where that holiday is celebrated today.

I am writing on the 6th, which is Epiphany in the Christian calendar, and this morning I felt impelled to listen to some Christmas music. The result was an amazing spiritual uplift, as if today itself were Christmas (being Christmas Eve in Russia and elsewhere). Some people have denominated Epiphany "little Christmas" although to me it might be "esoteric Christmas," celebrating the visit of the Wise Men to the newborn Baby King. The Wise Men were astrologers, according to the best translation of the Greek New Testament available, the New English Bible.

And, according to my desk encyclopedia, "Epiphany also celebrates the (much later) baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist and Jesus' first miracle, performed at Cana" in Galilee, namely, Jesus's transformation of water into wine at a wedding feast, at the behest of his mother, who said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." (John chapter 2)

And so if you are reading this on Wednesday, you may partake of the magic in some miraculous way known only to yourself.

Thursday also contains magic, with the moon in Libra trine Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius--albeit the moon is in the Via Combusta. That is not always depressing, and need not be today, although it can make us feel lost or unfocused. That can be good if it impels us toward regrasping destiny from a broader viewpoint.

Organizing your intellectual faculties to reorient yourself in a mysteriously changing (yet stable enough) world is your opportunity. This requires facing the peculiarities of those in high places who wage war in one way or another--either the literal warriors of our peculiarly incompetent meddling in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq, or intellectual or spiritual warriors who are trying to bring the world around to their more advanced viewpoint. War is what makes everything chaotic, symbolized now by Mars in Leo (the President's sign) going backward. If you think American forces know what they are doing, I invite you to read this chilling report of how they botched up intelligence to the point that 8 American C.I.A. operatives were killed: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/06/world/06intel.html?hp . As I have pointed out repeatedly, "we" (Americans) do not know what "we" are doing "over there," and contrary to what some people think, often doing nothing is better than making things worse. This incident, if you read it carefully, is not just a random, accidental incident which could happen to anyone. It is rather a perfect paradigm case showing that Americans in the military, including the supposedly competent C.I.A., just do not understand the alien culture they are meddling with, or the individuals who represent it. And without that understanding, nothing they do can be right.

All this seems important today because the aforesaid backward-traveling Mars is exactly quincunx the sun and Venus (together in Capricorn). I would guess, and I hope, all who are involved in the interminable culture-war are rethinking their approaches, for if they do not, fierce things can happen (again).

Your immediate needs can be met with dispatch. That could make you feel happily on top of things. If one thing is intractable, turn to another, and find what can be easily done, for doing it will give you strength to do something else. There is a bit of luck in finding what you need today, although because of the Via Combusta (as well as Mercury retrograde) I would postpone any large purchase (unless it is something of which you have no doubt whatever, and know you can get a full refund easily). A feeling of luck could make you almost giddy, until you realize you need to use that luck by keeping on with immediate tasks, which, imbued with Leprechaun charm, become almost fun.

Beauty and the arts can be magical, with Venus conjoined to the sun and both approaching a sextile with Uranus. In little things, as in taking a shower or bath, you celebrate your own body and treat it well. We have been dealing with serious stuff over the holidays, and that continues, but pressures are relaxing. Today you could immerse yourself in a sort of rebirthing process if you take it lightly, while making allowance for the necessities of life.
