Moon in Cancer

Battered by winds of adversity, rudderless, he is
A derelict from the great sea of life, abandoned.
When energy comes back he is surrounded by others
Seeking a quarrel, and combats their opinions rashly.

To what task is he called? In shirt sleeves to turn
A big wheel laboriously, assisting in a mission to
Uplift the world mightily. Above wings the angel of the Sun,
Michael, conscious of superior power wielded fairly.

And so there can be a festival, with villagers assembled
In gala costumes, sociable and flexible with a taste for
Multiple pleasures. Some have confidence and authority
Derived from position and wealth, as if luxuriating in

The Garden of the Tuileries. From shipwreck emerges at last,
Through cycles of effort, exquisite angelic expression.
